Dear Harry J. Myers,

I very much enjoyed the time spent researching into your familys past. I started in late
February and worked all the way to the start of April. I would like to thank you for allowing me
to do my research project on you and your family. With more time I would be able to find more
documents and proof into your familys history. Here is what I learned.

Here is the original question you gave me,Where was my grandfather. I started off with
gathering as much information as I could from you. Here is my notes from what information you
first gave me.

Client name.) Harry Myers.

Question.) Where was his grandfather born?

People and brief information-

Harry J Myers III. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Harry J Myers Jr. Harrys father. / Birthday. Jan 3rd 1921 / Place of birth Philadelphia.

(Application for World War II compensation states that birth year was 1922 not 1921 the initial
year you gave me)

Mary Ann Martin. Harrys mother Year = 1941 or 1942 Date = August 26th

Harry J Myers. Harrys grandfather ( Subject of project )

( The initial grandmother you gave me was not married to Harry J Myers but instead a different
part of your family line. After viewing many censuses we found Edith Martin )

Edith Hesselpoth. Harrys grandmother

This information is the ground for the research part. We use everything we know to learn more. I
initially took the information you gave me and entered it into Familysearch1. The first things to
come up were many censuses. After going through and filtering them out I found two matches.
The 1930s and 1940s censuses, they are included below. Censuses are not primary sources but
what they do show is consistency. The 1940 census showed that Edith, the mother, answered all
the questions. This is a good because in some cases the child is the only one home to answer.
Edith would have a great understanding of where people would be born and their ages. What we
learn from the census is that theyre currently living in Philadelphia while raising their family.
They say in it that they are from the state Pennsylvania as well. While it only says the children
were born in Pennsylvania and not specifically Philadelphia, we soon learned through an
application for World War II compensation that Harry ( your father ) was born in Philadelphia.
We found this information off of ancestry2. This information of where he was born would go
along with the rest of the family because their household remains the same to the next census
showing they are remaining in one location.

Consistency is what most helps solve the question. Was your grandfather born in Philadelphia? I
am most certain he was. It is a common thing for people born in Philadelphia to remain in
Philadelphia. I have not found anything that suggest he was not. With more time more specific
documents can be revealed. I would like to thank you for allowing me to shed light on your
familys history. I hope what Ive found and given you has helped.

Sincerely, Brian
