MODULE
1 - DESCRIPTION
Le module additionnel R 734 de dtection de tension tripha-
se est destin se substituer limage de tension
monophase standard de certains rgulateurs de tension
dalternateurs.
Ce sont les modles suivants : R 438, R 448, R 449, R 452.
Le module R 734 a la particularit supplmentaire par rapport
au module R 731 de comporter une fonction de statisme en
courant ractif triphase permettant la marche en parallle
en rgime fortement dsquilibr (charges majoritairement
constitues de charges monophases entre phase et neutre).
2 - CARACTRISTIQUES
2.1 - dtection de tension
La dtection de tension est faite laide de 3 transformateurs
monophass (de 2VA chacun) connects entre phase et
neutre.
Tensions dentres :
- Tension haute (400V entre phases) :
plage de tension de 340V -5% 480V +5%
- Tension moyenne (230V entre phases) :
plage de tension de 200V -5% 240V +5%
- Tension basse (110V entre phases) :
plage de tension de 90V -5% 140V +5%
Potentiomtre tension intrieur :
Le rglage de la tension ne se fait plus sur le rgulateur, mais
sur le module R 734.
Potentiomtre tension extrieur :
Dans le cas dun rglage de la tension distance, retirer le
strap ST10 sur le module et connecter un potentiomtre Rhe.
Plage de rglage de Rhe :
- +/- 10% avec un potentiomtre de 470
La tension diminue quand on augmente la rsistance.
2.2 - statisme de tension
Dtection de courant (3x T.I de marche en parallle) :
Sauf cas particuliers les 3 T.I ont le mme rapport de
transformation.
Secondaire TI :
- Maximum permanent : 0,8 1,2 A
- Nominal : 1A ; 2VA classe 1
- Maximum 10s : 3A
Potentiomtres statisme P1, P2, P3 :
Pour un courant de 1A au secondaire des TI de marche en
parallle, cos=0, le potentiomtre statisme au maximum
horaire, la chute de tension est au minimum est de 8%.
- Les 3 potentiomtres, sauf cas particuliers, doivent tre
rgls la mme position.
3 - INSTALLATION
Le module R 734 est dstin tre install ct du The R734 module is designed to be installed vertically next to

R 734
1 - DESCRIPTION
The R 734 optional three phase sensing module is designed
to be used with the R 438, R 448, R 449, R452 single phase
sensing voltage regulators.
The module R 734 has an additionnal function compared to
module R 731 : it has a 3 phase current sensing/
quadrature droop which enables it paralleling with highly
unbalanced loads (i.e. mainly consisting in single phase loads
connected line to neutral).
2 - CHARACTERISTICS
2.1 - voltage sensing
The voltage sensing is done with three 2VA single phase
transformers connected line to neutral.
Input voltage :
- High voltage tap (400V line to line) :
340V-5% to 480V=5%
- Medium voltage tap (230V line to line) :
200V-5% to 240V+5%
- Low voltage tap (110V line to line) :
90V-5% to 140V+5%
Internal voltage rheostat :
The voltage can be adjusted using the internal rheostat P1 of
the module R 734.
Remote voltage rheostat :
If required, remove the ST10 jumper in order to connect a
remote voltage rheostat Rhe.
Voltage adjustment range with Rhe :
A 470 Ohms - 3W rheostat can be used for a +/-10% voltage
range.
Voltage decreases when increasing the resistance.
2.2 - voltage droop
Current sensing : 3x C.T for // operation
Except for special uses the 3 C.Ts have the same
transformation ratio.
CT secondary :
- Maximum continuous current : 0.8 to 1.2 A
- Rated current : 1A ; 2VA class 1
- Maximum current for 10s : 10A
Voltage droop potentiometers P1, P2, P3 :
It is designed to provide a minimum voltage droop of 8% at 0
power factor and 1A from the paralleling CTs.
- Except for special uses, the 3 potentiometers shall be
adjusted to the same position.

6.1 - dtection de tension 4-1 - voltage sensing

- Brancher un oscilloscope entre + et pour mesurer la
tension crte de sortie.
- Ajuster la tension crte laide du potentiomtre P4 pour
obtenir 7V.
- Connect UVW and N inputs to a single phase supply Un/3 :
i.e 230 V for Un = 400V LL.
- Connect the R734 + and outputs to AVR s (438-448-449)
+ and - inputs.
- Connect an oscilloscope between + and - to measure the
peak output voltage.
- Set the peak voltage with potentiometer P4 to get 7 V.

6.2 - rglages et quilibrage du 6.2 - droop balance and setting

Le but de ce rglage est dajuster le statisme sur les 3 phases The setting target is to adjust the same droop in the three

- Raccorder les 3 entres du transformateur de courant TI
(S1-S2) en srie.
- Alimenter les entres en srie par une source alternative de
12V en srie avec une rsistance de 12 et un ampremtre.
- Lors de lalimentation sassurer grce lampremtre que
le courant en ligne est de 1A.Si ce nest pas le cas, ajuster la
tension ou la resistance pour obtenir 1 A.
- Phase par phase, mesurer avec un milli voltmtre (CA) la
tension entre les bornes S2 et les points de contrle
proximit des potentiomtres.
- Rgler phase par phase la tension de rglage 0,55V* avec
les potentiomtres P1et P2 et P3.
- Connect the 3 current tansformer CT inputs (S1 S2) in
series.
- Supply the input in serial with an 12V AC supply in series
with a 12 resistor and an AC amperemeter.
- Then the suplly to checked with ampmeter that the line
curent is 1A. If not, adjust the voltage supply or the resistor to
get 1 A.
- Phase by phase, to measure with milli voltmeter (AC) the
voltage between S2 and the TEST.
- PINS close to potentiometers.
- Set phase by phase the setting voltage to get 0.55V* with
P1and P2 and P3.
