FIRST DAY: Read the notes and the references.
1. What was meaningful to you in the lecture?
Principle2: Jesus's shameful death give us victory before God. He is God and fully accepted to be humiliated and even
died a shameful death for me to be redeemed with God the Father

2. What help did you receive from the notes?

SECOND DAY:Read John 19:31-37.

Note: Romans broke the legs of people they crucified to hasten their deaths.
3. Why did the Jewish leaders ask Pilate to break the legs of the crucified men? (See Deuteronomy 21:22-23.)
Because the Jewish leaders did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the
legs broken and the bodies taken down.

4. What is wrong with the leaders outward desire to obey Gods Law, and what warning do you receive from this?
(See also John 18:28.)
This hypocrisy of the Jewish rulers. They broke much greater commands in rejecting Gods Messiah and condemning an
innocent Man to death.

5. For what aspect of Jesus obedience are you especially thankful today? (See also John 18:11; Philippians 2:8; or
other Bible verses.)
Jesus submitted fully to suffer and even die on the cross to save humanity. I am thankful of Jesus sacrifice for me to be
saved of my sins He bared all this with His life to reconcile me with God the father

THIRD DAY:Read John 19:31-37.

6. How does this passage show that Jesus actually died physically, and why is this important?
When the soldiers were ordered to break the legs of people crucified together with Jesus, when they came to Jesus they
found He was already dead. Jesus death was important to fulfill what was written in the scripture.

7. What circumstances did God overrule to ensure Jesus death fulfilled the symbolism of the Passover Lamb?
(See Exodus 12:2-13; Numbers 9:12; John 1:29.)
In Number 9:12 during passover nothing was to be left till morning and the bones of the sacrificial lamb were not to be
broke. This symbolize the kind of death Jesus died He was crucified the day before the celebration of passover and none
of His bones were broken
In John 1:29 John the Baptist declared Jesus as the Lamb of God who will be sacrificed to save the world of sins

 8. What do you learn about Jesus from the Old Testament prophecies that speak of His pierced side, and how does
this affect your worship of Him? (See Isaiah 53:5-6; Zechariah 12:1, 10; 13:1.)
God had planned long ago to redeem His people from sins using His very own son Jesus Christ. This makes me worship
Him and trust Him today and forever knowing that He took away my burdens and now am free.

FOURTH DAY:Read John 19:38-42.

9. Describe the men who buried Jesus. (See also Luke 23:50-52; John 3:1-21; 7:47-52; 12:42-43.)
1. Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. He defended Jesus when the Jews leaders wanted to
arrest Him
2. Joseph was a member of the Council, a good and upright man, who had not consented to their decision and action.
He came from the Judean town of Arimathea

10. a. What did these men gain and what did they lose during the period when they did not publicly identify
with Jesus?
These men gained earthly position and recognition by the Jews leaders. But they lost proper encounter with Jesus
during His earthly mission they rejected God for fear of Human leadership

b. What did they risk and what did they gain by coming forward to bury Jesus?
They risked being expelled from the Jews temple and also being declared Jews outcasts. By preserving the body of our
Lord Jesus they gained redemption of their sins

11. What fear holds back you or a loved one from following Jesus fully, and how will you ask God to intervene to help?
Fear of condemnation and rejection. I Pray that God will intervene and lift this obstacle, to give me full courage to
follow Jesus fully .

FIFTH DAY:Read John 19:38-42.

12. How do the details of Jesus tomb fulfill Scripture? (See Psalm 16:10; Isaiah 53:9; Matthew 27:57-60.)
The tomb assigned to Jesus was meant for the rich man Joseph. No one had ever been buried there in that tomb it was
a new tomb.

13. Why do we bury the dead and how might this study of Jesus burial impact your daily life? (See also Romans 6:3-4;
Colossians 2:12-14.)
We bury the dead to fulfill the scripture Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may
live a new life. Having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in
the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

SIXTH DAY:Review John 19:31-42.

14. What have you learned about God in this weeks study? How may your group pray for you as you make this truth
a part of your life?
Surely God's love for me is great, He accepted to be Humiliated and even died on the cross for me. The word of God can
never be changed by anyone and it is always fulfilled.
I would like my group to prayer for me to continue servicing and following Him
