Personal Bio

Stanislaus is an Agrofood engineer and an artificial insemination technician in cattle, with skills in
plant and livestock pest and disease management & control, farm planning and record keeping and
formulation of diet for farm animals (ruminant and non-ruminants). He is currently based in
Venezuela and is fluent in Spanish. Over the years, he has designed and executed a number of
community-based projects in food and agricultural development.

Recently, he designed a bed for rearing of red worms (Eisenia Fetida) used for the production of
organic fertilizer (worm casting and tea), a technology that was passed on to farmers allowing them
to develop their own organic fertilizers, further enhancing food security in his locality. He
spearheaded research in the effectiveness of the worm casting and tea in sweet pepper, whose
results showed that plants fertilized with worm casting and tea had an improved overall growth by
25 per cent, less insect infestation and improved better yields.

Stanislaus has also worked as a chemistry lab technician for four years in the Universidad
Politcnica Territorial del Norte del Tchira (Territorial Polytechnic University of North of Tachira),
where he conducted research on the use of chicken droppings in the preparation of feed ration for
ruminant animals in their fattening phase. He formulated a diet that was experimented on sheep
which recorded an average daily weight gain of 207 grams.

Previously, he worked in the National Institute for Agricultural Researches Venezuela (Instituto
Nacional de Investigaciones Agricolas INIA) as a research assistant and dairy farm manager. At the
institute, he helped in planning, designing and mapping out of an experimental field where seven
species of grasses were evaluated for adaptability in the western region of Venezuela. Similarly, he
developed fodder banks (from nursery to transplanting) of hundreds of Moringa seedlings and white
mulberry.
He is presently working in Centro Cultural de Idiomas Ruge (Center of Culture and Languages), an
organization involved in transformative education for social development, in Caracas as an English
language facilitator. He is also currently writing a book, regarding his experiences in Venezuela and
further illustrating the current economic crisis in venezuela.

Stanislaus is passionate about teaching, learning new cultures and working in a team to achieve
goals and objectives, and therefore hopes to engage with organizations providing transformative
education for social development around the world.
