2.0 SYNOPSIS

This course involves series of experiments that deals with the principles application of
gas engineering and reservoir engineering.

3.0 OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course, students should be able:

1. To perform the concepts and operations of gas engineering.


2. To perform the concepts and operations of reservoir engineering.

4.0 METHOD OF INSTRUCTION

Student should carry out minimum SIX (6) experiments which consist of THREE (3) open-
ended experiments and another THREE (3) for normal experiments. The following are the
equipments available for experiments.

Students should carry out at least six (6) of the experiments. In case of any of the above
experiment is not available, alternative experiments or special assignment(s) should be
conducted.

For selected open-ended experiments, the activities should include:

1. Preparing experimental procedure based on Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of


each equipment
2. Discussion/ consultation with lecturer and lab technician/ lab assistant on experimental
procedure and suitability of chemical/materials to be used.

6.0 ASSESSMENTS

Lab reports : 60%


Tests : 20%
Rubric Assessments : 20%

8.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

1. Laboratory experiments and consultation will be carried out in alternate weeks.


Please make appointments for any consultancy.
2. Attendance of 100% is compulsory.
3. No make-up experiment will be allowed unless for medical excuses with legal
documents presented.
4. Students are required to design the experiment based on the problem statements
given and consult with the lecturer one week before conducting the experiment.
5. Late submission of laboratory report and any form of cheating, copying and/ or
plagiarism will be penalized.
