4. Project Scope Statement

Project Purpose / Business Justification

The purpose of this project is to film and produce a 30 minute documentary.The documentary will address the social ills
affecting young black south african males in present day South Africa . The topics the documentary will address are
alchohol abuse, sexuality, womanising and family planning.
The project duration is from 29/03/17 till 17/05/2017.
The projected project budget is R5000
Key Success Factors
Sourcing a high qualty video and audio recording equipment.
Find interested people to participate.
Meeting all project mileston.
Commitment to follow the project management principle(describe).
Filming a documentary of good good audio and visual quality.

Objectives
The objectve is to create a documentary that will be used to create a dialouge and awareness about prevailing social
challenges that are driven by ignorance and stereotypes amongst young black south african males

Deliverables
To encourage positive thinking in young black south Africans.
To influence the black youth to be responsible citizens of society
To be a teaching tool.

Scope
This project will adress issues that particulaly confront young black south african males ages 18-35. The areas of topic to
be adressed are alchohol abuse, sexuality, womanising and family planning. The project will not include consideration of
other young south african males of different races. The project will not deal with issue pertaining to south african females.

Inception of the project idea and getting the project approved will commence on the 03/03/2017 until 29/03/2017.
Developing of the project charter starts on the 29/03/2017 until 07/03/2017.
Research on the subject matter starts on the 30/03/2017 until 07/04/2017.
Getting final commitments from our stakeholders start on 10/04/2017 until 14/04/2017.
Sourcing for the video editing software, video and audio recording equipment starts on the 10/04/2017 and ends on the
14/04/2017.
Conducting interviews and filming starts on the 17/04/2017 and end on the 29/04/2017.
Final editing of the documentary starts on the 30/04/2017 and ends on the 05/05/2017.
