~BUSINESS MEETING~
The meeting was called to order by
President Kevin Reneau. Debbie Koo
offered a quote from Mark Zuckerberg on
Purpose before leading the group in the
Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
Guests at our meeting today included.

~HAPPY BUCKS AND EVENTS~
Ron Mucovich recently returned from a
20 day visit to Serbia and Montenegro to
visit family and friends. They celebrated
Belgrade.
Michele Robbins was happy about her
daughter, Hayley, receiving her degree
from Chico State.
Carol Tessler was happy about the
recovery of a friend from a recent illness
Bob Fritzky is celebrating both the win by
the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first Stanley
Cup game and, more importantly, the
graduation of his twins from college.
Larry Tessler offered a buck for his
nephews marriage and that the
newlyweds are expecting a baby.
Evie Michon travelled to the Lafayette
Library with the new librarian from Juvenile
Hall. They selected a large pile of books
for the library using funds donated by the
club.
John Erickson was happy about the TGIF
Social held at the Rossmoor home of Bill
Eames last Friday evening. Thank you,
Bill, for your hospitality.
Demotion & 50th Anniversary
Celebration Dinner June 27th
Kevin Reneau talked about the Clubs
combination Demotion Dinner/50th
Anniversary celebration to be held on the
evening of June 27th. This epic event is
still being planned, but mark your
calendars and look for information soon.
Note that reservations will be needed for
this event.

Natalie Rane from Rheem School won the

High Point Girl Trophy. A second High
Point Girl Trophy (due to a tie) was won by
Grace Charles also from Rheem School
who was unable to attend. Tyler Schmidt,
from Camino Pablo School won the High
Point Boy Trophy.

Car Collection Tour May 25th

A large group of Rotarians and friends

attended this tour of Barbara Bruners
cousin, Al Engles extensive car and other
memorabilia collection. This collection
includes motorcycles, boats, airplanes as
well as vintage cars and trucks. Thank
you, Al for letting us view this treasure.

This year we had 3 Odyssey teams win
the state championships and progress to Thanks, -Rich
the World competitions at Michigan State
University. Our Division I team (grades 3-
5) came in 4th place against 43 ~PROGRAM~
teams. Our Division II team (grades 6-8) Terri Moss, our speaker today, was

Wednesday night we handed over the
reins of the Student Leadership Position
from Maya Ramesh and mother Sudah to
the new leader, Aman Malhotra and his
mother Reena. The Student Leader was
started 2 years ago, where a student runs
the program for our 8 to 12 teams. They
hold the informational meeting in August
for new members, they communicate to all
the coaches throughout the year, they get
all the teams registered and fees paid to
the Odyssey national and state
organizations, they order the new T-shirts,
and they coordinate the regional and state
competitions for our teams. Maya did a
great job this year, and handed over the
role to Aman. Reena has been a coach
for many years, Aman is going to be a
junior at Campo and in an Odyssey team,
and has an 8th grade sister who is also in
Odyssey. They hopefully will hold the President Kevin, Terri Moss and a Smiling Lassie
Leadership role for years to come.

It has been proven that therapy pets calm
patients and can reduce high blood
pressure, heart rate and levels of anxiety.
Therapy dogs have helped chemotherapy
patients in reducing depression, use less
pain medication and cause more range of
motion when they are involved in
rehabilitation. The dogs can provide both
motivation and distraction for the patients.

him and he was forced to accept the $10
consolation prize!
