Open Adventist – Software Libre y de Código Abierto en la DIA

Open Adventist es un grupo de investigación del Departamento de Investigación de la Facultad de
Ingeniería y Tecnología, Universidad de Montemorelos
(http://fit.um.edu.mx/departamentodeinvestigacion/). Éste grupo está enfocado en la implementación y
distribución de software libre de código abierto en la División Interamericana (DIA).

El software que puede descargar en Open Adventist NO requiere de la compra de licencias de uso. En
otras palabras, ¡podría utilizar TODA la potencia del mismo completamente GRATIS! Imagine los

Estudiante de la Universidad de Montemorelos Trabajará en la NASA

Gabriel Trisca, estudiante de ingeniería en sistemas computacionales de la Facultad de Ingeniería y
Tecnología, Universidad de Montemorelos, trabajará durante el verano de 2009 en el laboratorio de 3D
LASER Ranging Scanner (LADAR) con el Dr. Michael A. Comberiate, NASA.

 Tecnología Verde en la DIA
Investigadores de la Universidad de Leeds en Inglaterra encontraron que los vuelos nocturos entre las
6pm y las 6am, que hacen un cuarto del total del tráfico aéreo, contribuyeron entre un 60 y un 80% al
calentamiento anual de nuestro planeta.

En el mes de mayo de 2009 se realizaron las juntas de la DIA mediante videoconferencias, una tecnología
verde que evita el uso de aviones y automóviles. Los resultados fueron excelentes. Vote en nuestra urna

Open Adventist – Free and Open Source Software in the IAD

Open Adventist is a research group created by the Research Department of the Faculty of Engineering
and Technology, Montemorelos University (http://fit.um.edu.mx/departamentodeinvestigacion/). It is
focused on implementing and distributing free and open source software in the Inter-American Division
(IAD).

The software listed on Open Adventist DOES NOT require to purchase any license. In other words, you
could use ALL the power of this software completely FREE! Imagine the benefits for the Adventist
institution where you work.

Student at Montemorelos University is Going to Work for NASA

Gabriel Trisca, a student of computer science engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology,
Montemorelos Univeristy, is going to work during the summer of 2009 in the laboratory of 3D Laser
Scanner Ranging (LADAR) with Dr. Michael A. Comberiate, NASA.

Green Technology in the IAD

“Researchers at the University of Leeds in England found that night flights during the hours of 6pm and
6am, which make up a quarter of total air traffic, contributed between 60 and 80% of the annual
