Interest
- Developed an interest about trafficking from a
young age
- Based on traveling experiences within South Asia
Trafficking
- Human trafficking is essentially the
equivalent of modern-day slavery
- Three major types: labor, debt bondage,
and sex trafficking
- Most common in South Asian countries,
especially Bangladesh
Trafficking
- The link between law corruption-especially
in South Asia-and human trafficking
- Occurs anywhere - DC is a major hotspot
- Links between the black market and
trafficking
Data Collection
- Created a data collection notebook, where I
wrote about primary experiences with
trafficking
- Took pictures of potential trafficking
situations; analyzed pictures to see any
common patterns
- Analyzed the overall behavior seen with law
officials reacting to children begging for
money on the street (recorded in notebook)
