wellw hen we know Gods name?
GO DEEPER
Should we trust God a little or a lot? Read Proverbs 3:56.
When you meet new friends, you ask their names. Then you
want to know more: What activities do they like? What grade
are they in school? Where do they live? You want to get to know
them better.
Some people have titles or descriptions that go along with
their names, like youth minister or Olympic gold medalist.
These titles and descriptions tell us more about what these
people do and help us get to know them.
Its the same when we are getting to know God.
We might have questions we would like to ask. Is God strong?
Is He good? Does He love us all the time, no matter what? Can
He tell us how to have a good life? Other people have had these
questions too, and in the Bible God answers them. One of the

Whoever asks for a blessing in the land
will be blessed by the God of Truth.
I saiah 65:16 gw
How do you feel when someone says mean things and then
laughs and says, Just joking!?
Someone who does that is not being a good friend. Nobody
wants a friend who cant be trusted to tell the truth.
In the garden of Eden, God told Adam and Eve they could eat
the fruit of all the trees in the garden except one, the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil. Then Satan disguised himself as a
snake, and near that special tree, he tempted Eve to believe that
God had lied to her. You wont die if you eat this fruit, Satan
said. Instead, youll be very wise, like God. (You can read the full
story in Genesis 23.)
Oh, what a trickster Satan is! God always tells the truth.
Satan, the devil, is Gods enemy, and hes the one who lies. Adam
and Eve learned that lesson the hard way. They both ate the fruit
from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They knew right
away that they had made a terrible mistake. And even though
God never stopped loving Adam and Eve, they had to leave the
beautiful garden God had made for them, and they would no
longer live forever.
