and supportive environment where they can confidently
share their views to bring about an enduring impact not only
in their personal life but also in their community.

3AN PROFILE 8
An orphan boy at the age of 8 was fortunate enough to be
picked up by Asian Aid as one of the first child from Nepal to
go to India for his education. In 2004, after completing his
education, this same boy Rajendra Gautam comes back to
Nepal contribute back to the Nepali society. The miraculous
journey of 3 Angels Nepal then begins with a blind girl called
Meena, found on the street of Pokhara; while Sarah and
Rajendra Gautam were walking on the streets, looking for a
job to Sarah, wife of Dr. Rajendra Gautam, to make their
survival in a new place that they had just moved after they
were just newly married. The only money they had was
Rs.270 when they landed in Pokhara on the 4th of April
2004.

It is not surprising to them with what they see in 3 Angels

today and how the work of 3 Angels started with nearly zero
for they strongly believe in the Lord almighty who blesses
every effort to yield fruits to bless as many others.

3 Angels Nepal started with just one girl has grown up to

have 178 children in 13 homes with loving and caring foster
parents; more than 70 other needy children from difficult
backgrounds and circumstances have opportunities for a
better education and a bright future which otherwise seem
almost impossible.

3 Angels Nepal today provides holistic education to 515

children in 3 Angels International Mission School. The 34
staff at the school nurtures every child with love and utmost
care.

Further, to provide education, awareness and protection to

vulnerable women and children from human trafficking and
3AN PROFILE 9

sex slavery; 3 Angels Nepal has now extended its anti-
trafficking programs through 7 branch operations across
Nepal, reaching to 72 Districts to over 20 million population
through 3Angels Radio and various other activities that are
being effectively executed to combat human trafficking and
sex slavery in Nepal.

3AN is allowed access to 21 prisons with services such as

education, health and medical assistance to prisoners.
Furthermore, it is also authorized to assist children come out
of the prisons to 3AN children homes.

3 Angels Community Radio 94.6, Women Safe Haven and

Transit homes, Branch operations and border monitoring in
four major Indo-Nepal borders have significantly contributed
to intercept and rescue more than 35,000 vulnerable women
and children from being trafficked in to India. It is also
estimated that at-least 20 million people have been provided
access to education and awareness about human trafficking,
health and childrens programs through our Radio broadcast.

Nothing would have been possible if it was not for the Lord
almighty, the government of Nepal, the stakeholders,
security forces, local authorities, and like-minded
organizations who strongly supported throughout the
journey. Nor would have been anything possible if it was not
for 3AN partners, supporters and well-wishers who
financially, technically and with sincere prayers continually
walked together in this journey. The competent, dedicated
and committed team, strongly supportive board, the
ambassadors, internal and external representatives, and
staff of 3AN who work untiringly are the key players of the
achievements.

3AN PROFILE 10
Finally, it is all about RESCUE, PREVENTION and
REHABILITATION of the vulnerable women and children
who in thousands become prey to slavery every-year in
Nepal. Therefore, 3AN journey continues until the Human
Trafficking and Sex Slavery in Nepal is eradicated.

Your partnership and support to 3AN is pivotal to provide

hope, education and protection to individuals and
communities who are vulnerable to Human Trafficking and
Sex slavery and to prepare them for a better citizen of this
nation. Join the Rescue

3 Angels set up small checkpoints along the Indo-Nepal

border to rescue/intercept trafficking and help to stop human
trafficking. So far, the 3 Angels border monitoring stations
stop an average of 12 girls being trafficked every
day. Interception is the most effective form of rescue. In the
past three years 3AN has been able to rescue over 4,000
women and young girls from being trafficked and sold in to
Indian brothels.
Every intercepted client is counseled for family reunion.
When the re-union is not possible, they are then welcomed
to Women Safe Haven (A Safe and secured shelter) in
Pokhara. Immediate medical care, psycho-social counseling,
nutritious food, family and friendly home environment and
verities of different life skills training offered to rebuild their
lives for better and happy future.

The children who are taken in by 3 Angels are placed into

family units where they are welcomed into the family. Many
children have no memory of what it is like to be part of a real

3AN PROFILE 14
family and this is when the real healing and transformation
begins, as that child discovers what its like to be loved and
accepted.

The aim is to teach children, through nurturing, sharing,

trusting, forming relationships and taking responsibility. All of
these are vital emotional skills that they can pass onto their
own families in the future, thus shaping the lives of future
generations.

The current 3 Angels School is ranked as one of the good

schools in the region, however, the building, whilst well
resourced, is a very basic, cramped structure on rented land
and without room for expansion. 3 Angels Nepal would love
to offer more children a better education where all castes
mix and discrimination doesnt exist. The rescued and the
privileged, learn together. To achieve this, the plan is to build
a school campus on the purchased land that will educate
twice as many children and hopefully also accommodate 13
childrens homes (with the current family model) as these
also are currently rented and without the security of
permanence.

As well as talking about the dangers of human trafficking and

the tactics the traffickers use, we also inform communities
about basic health and hygiene to help prevent
contamination; the importance of clean water, and how to
stop the spread of disease. Legal counseling, Women and
Children rights and protection, Civic Education are additional
program that 3AN consider as equally important as the
awareness and education to trafficking is.
3AN PROFILE 15

Advertisers and sponsored programs are a valuable source
of revenue and this is how we are able to fund our vital
broadcasts. The more impact we have, the more advertisers
we can attract to help fund the programs. We also rely on
charitable donations, which helps pay for equipment, running
costs and other resources. Our aim is to become fully self-
sufficient by appealing to advertisers but costs for running a
radio broadcast are high.

3 Angels provides prisoners and their children with

both practical and emotional support that can make a world
of difference to their quality of life. We step in with basic
provisions that are not provided by the prison authorities.
Once they leave prison we are also there to help them pick
up the pieces of their lives and look forward to a brighter
future with education, training and emotional support. Some
of the children who have grown up behind bars often need
specialist support in order to adapt to life on the outside
whilst their mothers can be given training so that they can
eke out livelihood for themselves and their families.

One of the main goals of 3AN is to be self-reliant for

organizational perpetuity. Therefore, it has initiated activities
towards that goal. It has been running income-generating
programs such as school, bakery, garment factory, press,
and drinking water supply, Micro finance, Cooperative
among others, which will be further mobilized to help
vulnerable women and children. It envisions initiating more
such viable programs in the future. These initiatives will also
serve to employ victims during rehabilitation.

3AN PROFILE 16
The major aim of 3 Angels Savings and Co-Operative is to
mobilize the funds generated from and within 3AN
departments and units. In addition, it has played pivotal role
in providing financial help to trafficked women and
vulnerable children in need to financially equip them as an
alternative means of survivals and to provide them an
endless opportunities.

Sustainability Trend

In the above bar graph, the red bar depicts donations while
the blue represents income from sustainability initiatives.

As depicted by the bar graph, in 2016, 3AN generated

around 20% income from its internal source whereas 82% of
the total fund was received as donations. Likewise in 2018,
the income from sustainability initiative is estimated to be
equal to donations it will receive. And in 2020, it is estimated
that income will surge to 80%, and need of external donation
will be about 20%.

Exponential 20% increment in the income during the period

of 2019 2020 is expected as the construction of school
buildings, children homes and Safe Haven will complete
which will largely reduce rental expense in particular.

The overall trend shows that the income from sustainability

initiative will increase and the dependency on foreign aid will
decrease steadily leading to self-sustainability of 3AN by
locally generated fund in the near future.
