Music Class Syllabus
Welcome to a year of learning and making music! Following Michigan Music Standards and Common Core
General music classes at Reach Charter Academy are prepared Curricular guides, students will explore the elements of music
to involve students in a variety of musical educational through singing, reading music, writing music, and playing
opportunities. My goal is that students will develop a life-long melodic and non-melodic instruments.

Student Expectations:
Students will be expected to complete all assignments and lessons by the assigned due date REGARDLESS OF CLASS
ATTENDANCE. Students will be given 40 minutes of class time to work on the assignments for the week. All students will be
provided a Chromebook, headphones, and mouse to use during school hours to complete the assignments. Students will not
be allowed to take home these materials unless it has been arranged with the media center coordinator. Students are
allowed to redo any assignment but it must be turned in by the end of that week. (Example-if an assignment is returned to
you on a Monday, it must be resubmitted by that following Friday.)

Teacher Expectations:
The teacher will be expected to provide any help and additional instruction during class time or by email after school hours.
All emails will be responded to by 8:00pm the day sent- any emails sent after that time will be responded to the following
day before 8:00pm. All work will be graded the Monday after the assignment is turned in (including any redone assignments).

Grading Scale: A= 90-100 B= 80-89 C= 70-79 D= 60-69 F= 59 or Below
Grading Policy: Lesson Activities = 50%
Unit Activities = 50%
