Hari Raya Festival

Hari Raya Puasa will be celebrated by the Muslims after one month of fasting. Me and
family as a Muslim, Hari Raya Puasa is a special day to celebrate after they have gone through
fasting for a month from foods and drinks from Subuh until Maghrib. This festival will be
celebrated for a month either. In Malaysia, we can see the Muslims early prepared for the
becoming special day. They decorates their house, buying new clothes, and making many types
of food and cookies for the special day. We can see that the shopping complex, groceries, and
other shop will be crowded by the Muslims as they were preparing to celebrate Hari Raya Puasa.
For me, Hari Raya Puasa is a common thing now because the enjoyment of this raya only feels
when I was a little boy. I take Hari Raya Puasa as a small festive because for now, the important
thing for me is to discover a lot of new thing including my study but it doesnt mean that I'm
forgetting or not celebrating this festival . We can only celebrate it as a normal festival.

The night before the special day arrived my family and I , as usual a lot of activities
happen same as the other festival. I can see my parent and my grandmother will busy making
delicious food, while the my little brother were enjoying themselve playing fire crackers with
other family members. The house which is located far from the town especially,which is a
village, will be decorated with what we called `pelita around the house. It has been found that
such activities is a legacy. Pelita is made up from bamboo stick actually, but nowadays people
had invented a new kind of pelita which is made from plastic that is safe to used.

Furthermore, I can see a lot of delicious, variety and mouth watering food when the
festival arrived. For example, the main menu for Muslims is ketupat, lemang, and other food that
will make someone have a big intention to eat. There are also delicious hand-made biscuits or
cakes. We will be able to discovered all kinds of food when we go to other people or our family
members house. During Raya, someone will be able to gain weight drastically due to the intake
of lots of variety food. Trust me. Moreover, there must be an event that we called an open house
that will be held by the Muslims. The event helps to strengthen the relationship between family
members after not seeing each other for a long period of time and between Malaysians in order
to achieve the 1 Malaysia that has been planned by our Prime Minister. I also can see people
with different kind of races will be visiting their Muslims neighbours house to celebrate together
the special day. I hope that Malaysian people can maintain that style.
 Lastly, as I can see Muslims celebrate their festival that is Hari Raya with a lot of joy
and colorful day, same goes with other festival. Every festival have their own speciality. I hope
that from the coming years, Hari Raya Puasa will be celebrated more happening as Ive done my

EXPERIENCE ON THE FIRST DAY OF HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI

Every year, my family and I always celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri in the village which is
situated in Perak. We always arrive a day early before the arrival of the first day of Hari Raya
Aidilfitri. I will be thrilled every time I wait for the arrival of that day because of this occasion
our family will gather with other family members to celebrate this festival together.

On the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, I woke up early awakened by my mother. After I
finished a bath and performed the dawn prayers, I was getting ready to wear my new baju kurung
that I recently bought. After a while, my parents went to the mosque for Hari Raya prayers.

At the same time, I watch over the house and the kids with other members of the family.
After fasting for 30 days in Ramadhan, it is time for me to enjoy all kind of food. My parents and
the maid cook all kind of food the day before Hari Raya Aidilfitri. There are ketupat, rendang,
cakes, biscuits and many more that I like to eat. I was eating while waiting for their return.

At about noon, my family members from all over the places are gathered at my
grandparents house celebrating Hari Raya together. I am very happy at that time to meet all of
my cousins, play and chat with them. We ate together, talk together and laugh together. Its was
so much fun. For time to time, there are some children coming hari raya at our house. As the lady
in this house, I treat them to eat.

Hari Raya Aidilfitri is interesting event because all of the mistake and hatred are been
forgives and forget. Each of my family members would apologize to each other either older or
younger includes my family. One thing that I like the most is my grandmother, my parents and
relative would give me the Hari Raya money.
 When night comes, we are letting off firecrackers and fireworks. The atmosphere filled
with the sound of exploding fireworks. We all slept late that night, chatting with each other. In
conclusion, I like to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri with my family and the other family members.
The first day of this festival for every year is a sweet memory for me.

Christmas day

Christmas day is a special day in the Christian world. It is celebrated throughout the
Christian world with great enthusiasm. This day they go to the Church and offer special prayer.
Christmas day is a day of merrymaking and joy. Christians decorate their house, offices, street,
churches beautifully with colorful light.

On this occasion, everybody wishes Merry Christmas to each other. Special Christmas
Carols are sung in churches and abbeys. It is also an occasion for family get-together. People put
on new clothes, present gifts to each other, and decorate their houses.

The two special items of Christmas are the Christmas tree and the Christmas cake. There
are Christmas trees and Christmas candle in every house on this occasion. They prepare delicious
foods, cakes on this occasion. Gift distribution is one of the most common activity during this
festival.

Christmas festival is very special for retailers. The entire economy gets a boost during
this period. People around the world start shopping several days before the festival season. Huge
crowd can be seen in marketplaces and shopping malls. In many parts of the world, shopkeepers
decorate their shops along the Christmas theme.

The figures of Santa Claus and Saint Nicholas are very popular among young children.
Children eagerly wait for Santa Claus. They believe that Santa Claus and Saint Nicholas would
come and distribute them gifts. Santa Claus is a symbol of protector and friend of the children.
Christmas day

Christmas is the greatest festival of Christians. It is celebrated with great enthusiasm like
other festivals of different communities through-out the world.

It comes on 25th of December every year. It is the date when Jesus Christ was born. It is
like Krishna Janmashtami of the Hin-dus.

Great preparations are made. All houses and churches are white washed. They are
decorated with buntings, flowers and pictures, the shops are also decorated in a beautiful way.
Rich and poor, all enjoy the festival.

The Christians plant a Christmas tree on this day. They cut the branch of a tree and plant
it in a corner of the house.

Then they deco-rate this tree with lamps and toys and flowers. At night, it looks very
beautiful. All the members of the house sit together and sing prayers in praise of Lord Jesus.
Guests and friends also join them.

Christmas gifts are presented to them. Christmas greetings and beautiful Christ-mas cards
are sent to friends and relatives on this occasion.

Then the people hold a feast. It consists of the finest things that the Christian family can
afford. The lady of the house in her best dress moves about with great joy and enthusiasm. After
the feast they dance and sing.

Most of the Christians drink a little wine on this day. They enjoy the dance and music
very much. They dance in pairs, holding hands of each other.

The children also do the same. This is the way in which Christmas is celebrated and
enjoyed. The festival comes to a close late at night. All gather in the church to pray to God. They
pray that they may lead a happy life in the coming year.

It makes the people remember Lord Jesus who is thought by them to be the son of God.
God sent him to save the people from sin and misery.
