Guava and its future in Bangladesh

1. Introduction:

Bangladesh is an agricultural country. There are many fruits are cultivates, guava is one of them.
The productivity of guava in every year increasing as a result demand of guava product also
increasing. The south part of our country named Barisal cultivates huge amount of guava and
export it across the country and also over the world .So the future of guava in Bangladesh
become profitable.

1.1 Background and justification

Day by day demand for guava and product produced by guava is increasing. Now a days
technology is advancing in agriculture sector, to improve quality and production of guava farms
need to implement new technologies in guava production. Test of people are changing as a result
demand for new product is increasing continuously. So to sustain and be the market leader farms
need to introduce new products (juice, jam, pulps and concentrate, canned, dried guava etc)
based on guava. We know guava is good for health and contains vitamins. Through proper
management and implementation of new ideas guava business can grow continuously.

1.2 Literature review:

In modern era consumers nutritious fruits are demandable guava is one of them, but the choice of
customers are vary from each other to have a proper control over market a marketer need to have
various diversified items or product (Gomes et al., 2015).

Guava is less costly than other fruits in production process; farms can easily earn expected profit
as well as expected growth by investing guava business (Menezes et al., 2012).

Newly innovated products (made from guava) are more demandable than other fruit products,
because guava products are less expensive and highly health, those products are more profitable
than other (Silva et al., 2014).
Day by day demand for fruit is increasing; guava is one of the demandable fruit through having
proper maintenance a farm can earn 50,000 USD monthly (Ramady et al., 2015).

Just because of globalization a fruit is for all over the globe not for a single region. Through
globalization fruits like guava, apple, orange, and banana are common food all over the world. A
producer can sell his or her fruit all over the globe (Gull et al., 2012).

1.3 Hypothesis:

This research will be very helpful for the farms because it will give them brief idea on guava
business in Bangladesh. Newly innovated products will increase the demand for guava. Through
introducing technological advancement farms can improve their quality and increase amount of
production.

1.4 Objective:

This researchs objective is to find out potential demand of various products which are made by
guava and profitability of guava business in Bangladesh.

2. Materials and methods:

This will be descriptive research. This research will be based on secondary data and my
sample size will be 40.
We will gather qualitative approaches.
I will use door to door method to generate data.
This research will be analyzed based on descriptive statics.

3. Timetable

For collect data need 20 days, for data processing need 20 days, for data analysis need 10 days,
for data presentation need 5 days and for interpretation need 5 days.

Total need 60 days (2 months).

4. Budget:

To conduct this research I need 50,000 taka.


Transportation cost will be 15,000 taka.
Survey cost will be 10,000 taka.
Material cost will be 20,000 taka.
Others cost will be 5,000 taka.
