Holy Child Faculty 1-1 Training/Support

Faculty Technology Integration Prof Development Timeline:

March 15th Full Faculty Meeting


Introduce Professional Development Plan to Faculty
Introduce Plan and over vision for the one-to-one Surface Program
Explain ISTE Standards
Reinforce personalize plan, individualized training, based on faculty reflection and technology
survey that they completed last summer
Introduce digital resource library that will be available over the summer
Reinforce the idea of choice for our students and being lifelong learners as faculty (maybe next
year we can look at an overall theme or goal for the faculty but for now the purpose is to meet
people where they are at)

March - May
Individual or department meeting with faculty in the US and MS (Kaitlyn & Debby)
Reflecting, interpreting survey, looking at ISTE standards, developing goals for next year, begin to
think about plan for accomplishing goals
Priority will be to focus on those faculty attending the summer Tech Camp, then 7th grade and 9th
grade faculty, then the rest of the faculty

End of Year meetings


half day professional development session "speed innovating"
This will give some context and resources and allow teacher to begin to think of implementation in
their classroom throughout the summer
Connie will be able to give some resources for this prof development
4 sessions available - faculty would choose 2-3
o The topics for these sessions will be based on meetings that Debby and I will have in
previous months and highlight some of the major themes of the ISTE standards
By this point they should have an idea about their goals and will be able to choose the sessions
that they would like to attend
o These would be quick sessions that would allow people to be introduced to models or tools
and to start to play around
o Presenters would also give resources to explore over the summer

Tech Camp Week - July 18th-July 22nd

Also invite faculty and staff from other schools to attend

Monday - Nuts & bolts


Tuesday - Connie White leading: more philosophical ideas
Brain based strategies (chunking, reflecting, novelty, mind mapping
Wednesday - Connie White leading: how to set up classroom, more device specific (this will be based on
who is attending and she will be able to get more specific with discipline specific resources)
Thursday & Friday - Develop own lesson
Faculty Orientation
The faculty that attended the tech camp will present the unit/lesson that they created during this
time
The set up and organization would be similar to the "speed innovating" done at the end of the
year

Fall 2016
I will be supporting the faculty throughout the year as they are implementing these new
technologies and trying new things
Ideally I would love to be able to step into classroom to help in implementation
Debby and I will be keeping track of progress for our documentation purposes
This will also allow us to spread the word on social media and communication through the school
about the awesome things happenings with the new 1-1 program (this will be vital to buy in form
the entire community)
