Letmeintroducemyself.IamagraduateofTexasTechUniversitywithabachelorsof
artingeography,andaminorinSpanish.Iamlookingforwardtoanewschooltermasyour
childsSocialStudiesteacher.Wewillhaveafunandbusytimelearningthevocabulary,
definitions,andkeyconceptstobepreparedforthestatesstandardizedtestingandthe
challengesandrequirementsaheadinhighschoolandfurtherlearning.Ihavepreparedayear
fullofactivitiesandfunlessonstohelpyourchildachieveacademicsuccessinmyclassroom
andtheclassroomsofthefuture.

Therewillbehomeworkassignedalmosteverynightoftheweekbuttherewillbeno
largeassignmentsovertheweekend.Thesyllabuswilloutlineeveryassignmentandproject
startandduedates.Acopyofthesyllabusforparents/guardianswillbegivenwiththisletter.
Studentswillalsoberesponsibleforwritingdowndowneachdaysassignment(s)intheir
assignmentnotebooks.

Someofourclassroomproceduresareasfollows:
CheatingZerotolerancepolicy.Administrationandparentswillbenotified.Nomakeupwork.
ConflictswithclassmatesZerotolerancepolicy.Incidentwillbereportedtoadministration
andparents.Inclasschangeswillbemadetoensureconflictscannotcontinue.
GradingStatedclearlyinclassroom,syllabus,andwebsite.Policywillberigidandconsistent.
