4. First Aid Measures

First aid procedures
Eye contact Hold eyelids apart and flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical
attention if irritation develops or persists.
Skin contact Remove contaminated clothing. Wash off skin with soap and water. Get medical attention if
irritation develops or persists. Wash clothing separately before reuse.
Inhalation Move to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Call a physician if symptoms develop or
persist.
Ingestion Have victim rinse mouth thoroughly with water. Do not induce vomiting without medical advice. If
vomiting occurs naturally, have victim lean forward to reduce risk of aspiration. Do not use
mouth-to-mouth method if victim ingested the substance. Induce artificial respiration with the aid
of a pocket mask equipped with a one-way valve or other proper respiratory medical device.
Notes to physician Keep victim warm. Keep victim under observation. Symptoms may be delayed.

Protective equipment and In the event of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes. Move containers from fire area if you
precautions for firefighters can do it without risk. Use water spray to cool unopened containers. Wear full protective clothing,
including helmet, self-contained positive pressure or pressure demand breathing apparatus,
protective clothing and face mask.

6. Accidental Release Measures

Personal precautions Ensure adequate ventilation. Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak. Surfaces may
become slippery after spillage. Do not touch damaged containers or spilled material unless
wearing appropriate protective clothing. Keep out of low areas.
Environmental precautions Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Runoff may pollute waterways.
Methods for containment Eliminate all ignition sources (no smoking, flares, sparks, or flames in immediate area). Stop the
flow of material, if this is without risk. Dike the spilled material, where this is possible. Prevent
entry into waterways, sewers, basements or confined areas.
Methods for cleaning up Large Spills: Dike far ahead of liquid spill for later disposal. Absorb with earth, sand or other
non-combustible material and transfer to containers for later disposal.

Small Spills: Wipe up with absorbent material (e.g. cloth, fleece). Clean contaminated surface
thoroughly. After removal flush contaminated area thoroughly with water.

Never return spills in original containers for re-use. This material and its container must be
disposed of as hazardous waste.

7. Handling and Storage

Handling Do not handle or store near an open flame, heat or other sources of ignition. Do not use in areas
without adequate ventilation. Do not smoke. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Spilling onto the
container's outside will make container slippery. All equipment used when handling the product
must be grounded. Wash thoroughly after handling.
Storage Keep away from heat and flame. This material can accumulate static charge which may cause
spark and become an ignition source. The pressure in sealed containers can increase under the
influence of heat. Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Keep out
of the reach of children.

8. Exposure Controls / Personal Protection

Exposure guidelines MINERAL OIL (AS MIST): 8hr TWA = 5 mg/m3; 15 min TWA = 10 mg/m3
Engineering controls Provide local and general exhaust ventilation to effectively remove and prevent buildup of any
vapors or mists generated from the handling of this product.
Personal protective equipment
Eye / face protection Wear safety glasses; chemical goggles (if splashing is possible).
Hand protection Wear suitable gloves. Glove material: Vitonor Teflon.
Skin protection Use of protective coveralls and long sleeves is recommended. Use of impervious boots is
recommended.
Respiratory protection If ventilation is not sufficient to effectively prevent buildup of aerosols or mists, appropriate
NIOSH/MSHA respiratory protection must be provided.
General hygeine When using do not smoke. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety
considerations practice. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product.
