Sambandam Spinning Mills was established in the year 1973 by the visionary
and pioneer late Sambandam.S.P Founder.
The history of Sambandam Spinning Mills is in many ways the history of the
Textile Industry in Salem. The Sambandam Spinning Mills has contributed to the
development of the industry in general in Tamil Nadu and in particular in Salem
District by promoting self reliance, research, import substitution, exports and
technology. The Company has also demonstrated its staying power by ensuring
quality and customer satisfaction as the prime objectives. In fact, as a pioneer,
Sambandam Spinning Mills today is looked upon with respect and reverence as a
company that paved the way for the rest to follow.

a. The company provides complete power and authority to the HR officer for recruiting the
supervisors, employees, workers assistants on the basis of educational qualification for
the jobs availed.
b. The top level management like departmental heads are appointed by the General Manager
along with the guidance and control from head office and he is confined to be changed
for every three to six years by their performance.
c. The following are the basic criteria for getting employed in the company.

Presently, our state is facing the problem of scarcity of power supply. So, in this
regard, the company set invertors and generators inside the industrial campus.

The company also have temples of Lord Ganapathy and Lord Lakshmi inside the
campus.
FIRST AID
Being a manufacturing company, the company have first aid boxes in every sub
sections of production department.
HOLIDAYS
The only holidays for the company are Ayudha Pooja, Pongal and Deepavali.
Other than this, the company as directed by head office follows holidays on strikes, local
government holidays, and holidays due to the death of any VIPs.

The company follows its principle over the long period of time that it purchases raw
materials from the states of Punjab, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana and Andhra Pradesh.
Even though, there are many suppliers, the company cannot get it from the direct
suppliers.

Generally, the company holds store keeper to follow FIFO method, i.e., first come
first out method. The company maintains 2 store rooms for keeping the goods. They
