J
eremiah is my favorite prophet. When he is called to be a
prophet, he protests that he does not know how to speak Save the Date 2
well, and is merely a boy, but God tells him he is chosen for

a life filled with the Spirit. He is to go and proclaim the truth
everywhere, and is assured God will put the right words into his Parish Schedule 4

found in those who are mighty, wealthy or politically connected.

On September 11, 2016, Fr. Bill and Barbara moved to St. Johns
in Cohoes. Like Jeremiah, we were going to a place we did not


want to go and we felt ill equipped. We did not want Father Bill
and Barbara to leave but we had to trust two things:

We had to trust that God has plans for all of us; plans not to harm us, but to give us hope and a
future.

The second was the power Holy Spirit would sustain all of us; sustain this community of Christ
Church. We were meant to face this journey together.

Soon it will be a year since we started this journey together not knowing what plan God had for
Christ Church but trusting in the plan He had. The year has not been without its challenges and
sorrows. But it has also been a year of joyful fellowship and of service to one another and the
community.

God willing it seems this journey may be coming to an end and a new one beginning. One of the
supply priests we have had has expressed a desire to be the next Rector of Christ Church Fr.
Alistair Morrison. There are many details yet to be worked out and it will require the Bishops
approval before it is official so I ask all of you to pray for the Search Committee and Fr. Alistair,
that Gods will be done.

BIBLE SYMPOSIUM
The Bible Symposium for 2017 will be held

ear Christ Church,

Thank you for paying for my Beaver Cross camp. I really appreciate it. I had
lots of fun. I did high ropes, archery, fishing, low ropes and much more. I liked
the game gold rush. This is when there is a field covered in stuff spray painted
gold. You would have to take a piece of gold and run to the front without being
sprayed with a squirt gun. It was really fun. I also loved everything. I am very thankful
and fortunate to have such a nice church. Thank you very much.

 VESTRY MAKES PROGRESS IN SEARCH FOR NEW RECTOR

R
ev. Alistair Morrison has submitted his
name to become the new part time
rector at Christ Church
Duanesburg. Initial discussions held with
Rev. Morrison late last month were
productive and very encouraging. A
number of specific employment details
remain to be finalized and a potential
starting date is still undetermined. Rev.
Morrison, who has recently moved to the
United States from Northern Ireland, is
currently assisting his wife, Rev. Laurie
Garramone, at St. Johns Episcopal
Church in Johnstown, NY. Rev. Morrison
will be acting as supply priest in September
at Christ Church on two occasions, the 3rd
and 24th of the month. Please continue to
pray for the successful conclusion of the
search process, which will bring the new
rector to our parish.

Christ Church is a worshiping community of friends, joyfully serving,

encouraging and healing others in Jesuss name.
