1.1 INTRODUCTION
Information is what the world pivots on today. For many
organization , computer organization systems are now at the heart of
daily activities and a major consideration in corporate decision
makings .Without computerized assistance organizations will grind to
a halt, for the sheer volume of activities would overwhelm workers
and manager .The development of information systems have played a
dominant role in the evolution of information economy.
We have selected BSNL as a partner because it has grown to be a tool
of choice for most of the programmers when compared to any other
programming language and has been strategically placed by Microsoft
to be the corner stone of windows programming. As part of the
National Broadband Penetration Program (NBPP), HCL Infosystems
and BSNL will provide personal computers (PCs) to the rural masses
for a down payment of Rs 2,250, followed by Rs 300-455 per month
for a period of 3-5 years for the PC and subsidized monthly
broadband package at Rs 99 or Rs 150.

1.4 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Title of Study
The title of the study is “Improving rural internet uses through BSNL
broadband and HCL PC bundling scheme”
Research Design
The Research Design adopted in the study was descriptive in nature
because the study aims at describing the situation as it exists at
present. It shows the consumers satisfaction for HCL computer with
BSNL broad band connection. It also shows consumers preference
and buying behaviors towards Hcl computer.
14
1.5 SOURCES OF DATA COLLECTION
The relevant data was collected from both primary sources and
secondary Sources. The starting point of my information gathering
has been the secondary Sources such as internet, books, and journals
and so on. Mainly the sources of data are classified in to two types.
Primary data
It is collected through questionnaire, search and research through
place where today’s computer has been mostly used. . Data was
collected through an interview schedule, consisting of both open
ended and closed ended questions. The schedule covered parameters
like reasons for consumers’ brand preference; recollection of earlier
tagline and advertisement. The data was collected through telephone
contacts and one-to-one personal interviews.
Secondary data
It is being search sites like magazines, newspapers, journals websites
and the data has been collected through other approaches.
15
Sampling Procedure
Sampling is that part of statistical practice concerned with the
selection of an unbiased or random subset of individual observations
within a population of individuals intended to yield some knowledge
about the population of concern, especially for the purposes of
making predictions based on statistical inference. Sampling is an
important aspect of data collection.
Random sampling.
Judgment sampling.
Quota sampling
Random Sampling
In random sampling, each item or element of the population has an
equal chance of being chosen at each draw. The actual composition of
the sample itself does not determine whether or not it was a random
sample.
Judgment sampling
Judgment sampling involves the choice of subjects who are most
advantageously placed or in the best position to provide the
information required
16
Quota sampling
In quota sampling, the population is first segmented into mutually
exclusive sub-groups, just as in stratified sampling. Then judgment is
used to select the subjects or units from each segment based on a
specified proportion Quota sampling is useful when time is limited,
sampling frame is not available, when detailed accuracy is not
important.
Sampling method
The study involves area sampling method. Area sampling method
involves selecting a probability sample of geographic areas and
selecting units or individuals within the selected areas for the sample
Instrument Used
I have prepared a Questionnaire cum Schedule for market research
for both the segments horizontal and vertical. The Questionnaire was
prepared by me and Schedule was provided by the company in
which the researcher did its research report.
Sample size
The Sample Size of this study is 60.
Population
The Population of this study is indefinite.

5.1 FINDINGS
Every project has some limitations even the researcher came
across some limitations while working on the project which
made the analysis a little inappropriate at times. Some of the
basic limitations faced during the research are listed below:
Only limited number of respondent found i.e 60 players was
covered in the study.
1. Lack communication between the company and the BSNL job
holder who had provided the broadband service.
2. Less advertisement
3. Service is too late
4. Company not provides necessary things which have many many
important for the project.
5. Lack communication between the BSNL job holder and rural
people.
6. Most of the rural people completely ignore about the scheme.
7. Rural peoples are not listing carefully, what we talk to them!
8. They are not submitted the require documents.
10. The cable are not supported for broadband in many rural areas
11. Many land phones are not running because of the cable
Problem.
12. Many are not submitted there telephone bill .There bill will be
outstanding so they can not eligible for this scheme.
1.
51
5.2 SUGGESTION AND RECOMMENDATION
1. HCL is having large number of channel partners but it is
not supporting & taking care all of them equally which
results in increasing discontentment among new channel
partners because its not possible for company to support all
of them equally. Company should take some positive action
against it.
2. Company executive should pay proper attention towards
checking of various components of PC and telecom before end
user delivery. Otherwise it tends towards defame of brand name in
comparison to rivals.
3. Need to expend customer care center as the consume base of HCL
Infosystems is increasing with tremendously fast pace.
4. Proper attention should be paid for advertisement planning
Otherwise it may lead to problem for dealer and customer as well
as for company.
5. Company should tie up with some event management to company
to organize various promotional activities .
6. Company should take better attention towards communication
between company and customer.
7. As this scheme only applicable for rural people, company gives
better service and take step in this case.

5.3 CONCLUSION
53
I have completed my summer training project in which are involved
in its successful completion. In spite of few limitations and hindrance
in the summer training project I found that the work was a challenge
and fruitful.
It gives enough knowledge about the computers market and the
distribution process undertaken by an organization. This summer
training project has enabled my capability in order to manage
business effectively and in my career in future. As this project
connects with the rural people, I have got great opportunity to work in
rural areas.
