 Iba'se - The Ifa Prayer of Praise
Iba’se - A oração de louvor Ifa

The prayer presented here is used as an opening invocation in many of the ceremonies
performed by the elders of Ifa in Ode Remo, Nigeria. The prayer is based on the concept of
honoring those Spiritual Forces that are worshipped in the town of Ode Remo.
A oração apresentada aqui é usada como uma invocação de abertura em muitas das
cerimônias realizadas pelos anciãos de Ifá em Ode Remo, Nigéria. A oração é baseada no
conceito de honrar as forças espirituais que são cultuadas na cidade de Ode Remo.

Because there is a wide range of differences in the Spiritual Forces that are worshipped in any
given Yoruba community there is a range of variation concerning the content of this prayer.
Even within the same area, the older initiates will tend to be more elaborate in their
pronouncement of an opening prayer than the younger initiates who are still learning the art of
invocation.
Porque há uma ampla gama de diferenças nas forças espirituais que são cultuadas em toda a
comunidadeYorubá dado há um intervalo de variação sobre o conteúdo desta oração. Mesmo
dentro da mesma área, os iniciados mais velhos tendem a ser mais elaborados, em seu
