Scope and Limitations of the Study

The scope of the study involves the time & money spent, the
tools/materials andtechniques used, and the number of personnel
needed for the experiment to becompleted.The estimated time range of
the experiment from the extraction of the peelings of Dayap to the final
outcome of the product ranges from a minimum time of 4 hoursto 48
hours depending on the quantity of the oil extracted. (Maximum of
100liters)The general budget for this experiment ranges from a
minimum amount of 500pesos (includes raw materials and equipments)
to a maximum amount of 1500pesos which depends on the amount of
oil to be extracted. Equipments can bemade from other recyclable
materials which can be found on homes or to theinternational grade of
equipments.The tools needed for this experiment are source of flame
(gas burners, alcoholburners, etc.), beaker, stirring rod, tongs, wire
gauze, graduated measuring cupsor graduated cylinder, pipette, stand for
the beaker, spatulas, manual or mechanical grinder, large Petri dish,
evaporating dishes, funnel, tongs, and widemouth bottle. The general
materials needed are peelings of dayap and water.Techniques involve
performing the correct method in order for the laboratoryapparatuses to
work according to their use and common techniques like
grinding,transferring, measuring, etc.This experiment needs human force
from a minimum number of 2 10personnel.

Limitations of the Study

The study is limited only to the extraction of dayap peelings as an


additive inperfume making. Its limitations are those events, things, etc.
that are outside of the scope of this study.

Develop a Barangay Management Information System with SMS (Short Message Services)
support. This provides a record keeping and updating information and it also allows the users to
search or view records.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

To develop a Barangay Management Information System for the Barangay of Pinontingan with
SMS support that helps them to have more effective method in delivering information as well as
in keeping useful records and giving good services.
1. To build a computerized Barangay record management system, to make the records reliable,
accurate, complete, more accessible and therefore, easy to find.
2. To maintain their residents record as complete and up-to-date as possible for verification.
3. To minimize the time in writing the record, to eliminate the use of paper.
4. To have the sought after quality of service that is fast and accurate.
5. To broadcast the information through SMS support.

effective Barangay Management Information System.

(2001) is an Information System used in St. Anthony.

Aims to provide the Barangay Management the ease in doing their daily administration tasks.
The objective of this study is to create a system that will provide and visualize the Barangay
Management Information System.
This is a system that will display the master list, profiles, populations, informations about the
Barangay, constituents and the certificate that is being required of the constituents this system
has SMS support to broadcast information such as Barangay Assembly, Calamities, Search and
Rescue ect.
The process contains the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

The computer serve as a general service tool is in the field of information retrieval and
operations the search for facts.
Computer-based information retrieval operates through the use of software that can offer
information services for an institution.
It is powerful and convenient builder for simultaneous growth in society and industries.
Information Technology is also significant in process of upgrading leadership through services
that every Barangay are working with.
Barangay Pinontingan is the place where Bicol University Gubat Campus is located.
"Pinontingan" is synonymous with "pondohan", a dialect which means a place for anchorage.
The name Pinontingan was derived from the word Pinontingan which means a place or
anchor or a place of landing.
Management Information System is a system that provides the manager with information for
decision-making process.
The term Management Information System was originally used to distinguish a computer
application from the traditional accounting jobs.
Developing this project is very essential for the residing obliged practically to those barangays
that has a huge area, they can easily monitor their place inaction or effortless.

Short Message Service (SMS) is a text messaging service component of phone, Web, or mobile
communication systems.
It uses standardized communications protocols to allow fixed line or mobile phone devices to
exchange short text messages.
