When we sat down to design the worlds best sport shooting wear, we knew three things:

We would call it the X.9, that was easy
It should be the best we had ever made, better than our famous Xpert II models. Was it really possible?
We wanted a new material which keeps its stability over a longer period than canvas, is less sensitive to humidity and tempera-
ture, having the same good characteristic as canvas which gets its final shape according to the shooters body build and shooting
position(s) during the breaking in period. But it should not have the elastic-plastic spring feeling in the back of the jacket. Really,
we didnt believe that it could be possible

But, thanks to our creative product development team and our fantastic test shooters X.9 models are now available in three different versions
with different material combinations and with different degrees of stiffness, see p. 6 8. Canvas is the classical word for a heavy cotton material which is used as a traditional material for supportive sport shooting
clothing.
Next challenge for our product development team was a set of shooting jacket and pants which should:

SHOOTING JACKETS
DESIGN & DETAILS
All models are anatomically correct cut in every way. The torso of jack-
ets is long enough to give good support in standing. Pre-curved sleeves
feature a stretchy panel at the inside of the elbows which stretches only
lengthwise, providing better elbow stability in prone and kneeling. The
left armpit is constructed of the same stretchy material plus CLARINO,
giving both comfort in standing and support for the shooting sling in prone
and kneeling.
The left sleeve features a non-stretch two-way adjustable sling-keep-
er. It is made of a pliable but non-stretch material. The right shoulder has
a leather strap with Velcro fastening. Both sling-keeper and right shoulder
strap are designed so they can be adjusted in a matter of seconds which
is needed when shooting finals according to the new ISSF rules.

TOP GRIP PADDINGS
Anatomically cut non-slip TOP GRIP 4mm pads on the elbows and a 2mm
pad on right shoulder and upper arm provide grip where it is required. On
the rear of the left sleeve there is a very high class foam (grey in the pic-
ture) with closed cells under the Top Grip to protect the elbow and reduce
pulse transmission to the shooting sling.
BUTTONING & EXTRAS
The TOP BUTTON is moved to the left so as not to touch the rifle stock in
standing (not permitted by the ISSF rules, too). The LOWER BUTTONS
are somewhat to the right to avoid discomfort under the stomach in prone.
Most top shooters use all 5 buttons in standing position but only the
top 1-3 buttons in prone and kneeling. Make sure you always have a spare
button and keep this spare button in your shooting bag, not at home.
All models have adjustable buttons and are delivered with one
spare-button and instructions for use & care. Keep the spare button in
your shooting bag, not at home We can stitch your name or other text
(or your own badge) on your jacket if you request it we make the letters
from real leather.

SHOOTING PANTS
DESIGN & ZIPPERS
The upper part features a high waist, supporting and protecting the back
in standing position. All models have long zippers in the back of both legs
for comfort in kneeling. The zippers feature a double slide and can be
opened from both the top & the bottom.
FRONT OPENING & KNEELING POSITION
The fly is offset, and is closed with a velcro closure. There are no hooks
which may break during a shooting match. The length of the fly opening
can be selected from one of three different lengths by opening of one or
two seams. This provides adjustability in standing and solve many kneel-
ing position problems. If you need more space in the pants for kneeling
position just open one or two of the seams especially important if you
have a wide leg position in kneeling.
TOP GRIP PADDINGS & EXTRAS
All models are fitted with non-slip anatomically cut TOP GRIP pads. A
4mm pad on the left knee provides for a stable position of left elbow. On
the right knee a 2mm pad plus a very high class foam (grey in the picture)
with closed cells under the Top Grip to protect the knee and give comfort
against uneven floors.
There are no old-fashioned buttons for bracers which may press the
stomach in prone or under the left elbow in standing: Instead smart, flat
belt loops with metal rings for our 1-Shoulder Braces are fitted. To special
order we can stitch your name or other text on your pants, using letters
cut from real leather.

From 1.1.2013 the seat pad may not be attached to the pants if shooting
under ISSF rules. Many national federations allow old rules to be used
nationally. Note that ISSF rules allow the use of braces OR belt, not both
at the same time. It is permitted for example to use a belt in standing and
braces in kneeling.
According to ISSF rules the maximum thickness of the waist-band (i.e.
the upper part of the pants itself) is 2.5mm if using a belt. If using braces
(or neither belt or braces) the maximum thickness is 3.5mm.
If you do not compete under ISSF rules this rule does not concern you
at all.

SHOOTING UNDERWEAR
Good shooting underwear is deliberately made to fit tightly. This avoids
folds under the rifles butt plate, under the elbows in prone/kneeling and
under the shooting sling on the left arm. A fold in these places can be very
uncomfortable or can effect the position, recoil or even increase the effect
of the pulse. The required characteristics are usually found only in special
shooting underwear and sweaters.
PADDING REQUIRED!
For many shooters it is important to get the right padding between the
body and the shooting jacket. It often makes the shooting positions more
comfortable and may reduce the effect of the pulse. For some shooters
this reduction is significant.
Underwear made for rifle shooting is thick where it needs to give pro-
tection: in the shoulders area, on elbows and on the rear of the sleeves.
In other areas it should be thinner and the main purpose is to transport
heat and moisture away from the body. Shooters underwear should be
particularly thin in two places: In the inside of the elbows for standing and
in the back of the knees for kneeling.
In the standing position most of the top shooters tuck the sweater in-
side the shooting pants, even in hot weather. This provides an appropriate
degree of padding between the stiff shooting pants and the body.
TOO MUCH UNDERWEAR?
A warning. Using too many layers, lets say a T-shirt plus two very thick
sweaters, under the jacket result in you losing the feeling for the rifle or
your position. Only testing can tell what is best for you. If you change
underwear you may need to adjust the buttons in your shooting jacket
accordingly.
The zipper should be a double slide zipper. This makes it possible to
open both from top and from bottom, important for those shooters who
find that it needs to be opened a bit from the bottom to make the sweater
comfortable in the kneeling position.
ARE THERE ANY RULES RELATING TO UNDERWEAR?
Yes, in international ISSF type shooting there is. The maximum thickness
of all underwear worn under the shooting jacket or pants must be at most
2.5mm when measured with the ISSF thickness measuring device.
SHOOTING SLINGS
WHICH IS BEST, ONE OR TWO BELT BUCKLES?
Here we have a cultural difference. German and Scandinavian shooters
prefer the mod. I type of slings as a tradition. English speaking countries
prefer a 2-buckle sling like our mod. II. Both types have been used to
shoot 600 points both at international 50m and at 300m prone matches...
A one-buckle sling is probably the easiest to use, especially if the shooter
has short arms, and therefore may be best for a beginner. Two buckle
slings are the choice of many prone specialists. Whichever model used it
is VERY important to not tighten the sling too hard around the upper arm
as this increases the risk of transmitting pulse to the rifle.
FINE-ADJUSTMENT SLINGS
These kind of slings have become popular lasting recent years. With such
slings it is possible to minutely adjust the length of the sling when in the
shooting position. It is crucial that this adjustment remains fixed once set
- the fine adjustment mechanism must be totally reliable on this point.
SLING CONTRUCTION & SLING MATERIALS
Traditionally shooting slings has been made of leather. Even very good
quality leather stretches over time. especially in high humidity. For this
reason synthetic materials are being used in modern slings.

The cuff (the upper part around the shooters upper arm) must be of non-
slip material. Nowadays all good slings are assembled with screws, not
rivets. This advantage means that the shooter can adjust the proportions
of the different parts of the sling, especially important for shooters with

ADJUSTING THE SHOOTING SLING
Slings are often made to be long enough even for a very tall shooter with
long arms. If you cut away excessive material it can not wave in the wind
and affect your hold. Remember to:
1. Mount the buckles so that they are easy to adjust
when in shooting position.
2. The buckles or the sling should not touch the rifle
stock behind the fasting point at the rifle (this is not permitted
when shooting under ISSF).
3. The buckles should not be placed against the glove
(on the hand holding the rifle) as it may press through the glove
into the hand.

where you have a good support of the sling and a minimum of pulse trans-
mitted to the rifle when in shooting position. This takes time but will save
extra - or thicker - sock, too.

SHOOTING BOOTS SHOOTING GLOVES
If you shoot standing or kneeling you should have a very serious ap-
proach when selecting shooting boots as they are the base for the whole
shooting position. The sole must be comfortable and provide good bal-
ance. Most shooters achieve the best balance with a flat sole, i.e. with a
low heel height. If it feels too low it can always be corrected with an inner
sole.
Why is there an opening at the rear of shooting boots? To provide
comfort in kneeling position. The lower kneeling roll you use, the more
important it is to have a low opening at the back. The standing boots are
closed at the rear, which makes the upper part more stable and the boots
keep their stability longer.
TEST!
When selecting shooting boots you should believe only your own instincts.
Use your own shooting socks and stand with the boots on over a period
of time until youre sure they fit well and provide you with good balance.
If you shoot outdoors in cold climate there should maybe be place for an

How thick should a kneeling roll be? It should be comfortable to sit on and

When taking out cork to adjust the thickness of the kneeling roll save
the extra cork in a plastic bag. You maybe want to put some back later!

These models are widely used in all disciplines and positions. It is the
easiest to use for a less experienced shooter and a safe My First Glove.
It is also the choice of many top shooters, too.
SOLID GLOVES
Olympic Silver Medallist in 3x40 shots Juha HIRVI of Finland has the
honour of being the creator of the SOLID glove. Juha brought a piece of
white plastic to our company in 1989 and asked us to make a shooting
glove with the plastic as padding.
We thought that the stiffer padding would only give a better support
to the wrist in standing. But Juha had understood that the stiff plastic
spreads the pressure of the rifle and the sling over a bigger area on the
hand in prone and kneeling thus reducing the pressure. For this reason
SOLID models are the favourite of many extremely good prone and kneel-
ing shooters.
LONG OR SHORT VERSION?
The climate youre shooting in may decide this. With a short-finger glove
its easier to change paper targets or load an air-rifle if your prefer to do
this with your left hand.
A good glove protects the hand from the pressure of both rifle and
sling without transmitting pulse to the rifle. Most top shooters choose dif-
ferent type of glove for standing and prone/kneeling. The shooting glove
is the most individual piece of equipment to choose.
TESTING!
There is only one way to test the feeling of a glove. On the inside. Borrow
different types from friends on the shooting range and test with your own
rifle in shooting position what kind of padding and cut fits you. Dont try
very old gloves as the padding gets thin and flat over time, because of the

HOW TIGHT SHOULD A GLOVE BE?
In standing a tighter glove may support the wrist better. In prone and
kneeling positions a glove that is too tight can increase the negative ef-
fect of the pulse, especially in hot weather when the hand expands a
bit. Some of the worlds best shooters use not only different models but
sometimes also different sizes of gloves in prone/kneeling and standing.

Over 90% of our products are made at own factory in
Forssa City in Southwest Finland. Forssa is famous for
its high quality textile industry and outstanding educa-
tion in this field.

OUR ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

Being a company working in the textile and clothing
industry we need to do our share in reducing the en-
vironmental impact of waste and support sustainable
environmental development. The goal is a rational use
of resources, prevent and combat waste, inconvenience
and danger to health and the environment.
Here at Teema Line Ltd. we follow a recycling and
waste plan made for us by Tampere University of Ap-
plied Sciences textile and environmental student Katri
Koskivuo in the spring of 2012. We improved our sys-
tems for waste disposal and recycling, making us more
resource-efficient as well as cost-effective with an en-
hanced waste sorting system.
Waste from the production consists mainly of textile
materials, leather and pattern paper. All textile materi-
als are sorted and donated to companies and design-
ers making new products out of recycled materials. This
way a big part of the textiles are utilized as a material,
which is the most environmental friendly way and only
then the rest is used for production of new energy. Less
than 3% of the companys waste is waste in the tradi-
tional sense of the word. Our goal is to eliminate these 3
% completely by the end of 2015.

We continuously educate our dealers in the made to measure

(MTM) work to ensure that our customers get best possible ser-
vice.
