To complete module 13 "Management of Educational Change" which is provided by
Professor Vladena Baetge Jahn we had to work in a group. We have chosen SMO as topic to
identify some problems to look how we could solve it.
Because our group is composed of 7 people, we had to split the group into two subgroups.
Sub Group 1 worked on the "Teacher Support in using ICT" and sub group 2 has been
working to the "Designing Curriculum for ICT Class".
Our thanks goes to everyone who has contributed in the realization of this project.

Clarity of Content

In dit verslag wordt er gewerkt aan het nieuwe systeem van onderwijs , wij hebben gekozen
om het school s.m.o te vernieuwen op het curriculum en internet gebied . Wij willen
middels de nieuwe technologie les verzorgen op de scholen in suriname.

ICT is a main subject at the SMO school. They had only a room with tables and
chair. No computers, no air condition, no network. The students were using their
smartphone/ tablet or laptops for the ict class. There were a lot in between who
couldnt afford these, so they were depended to visit a cyber or looking for another
solution. Well as we received feedbacks, we improved and changed the project
because the 1st and main problem is solved by a potential donation of 20 laptops and
5 pc equipped with air-condition and broadband internet. Now the school has an
equipped ICT- room.

So we took a step ahead how we look for a 2nd problem identification

The problem what we have identified is the strong need of a platform to guide
teachers to keep themselves up to date with the technology that is needed for daily
use at school. The decision of our divided group is to first make a Facebook page,
our first step in to bringing technology closer to the teachers. Here we will guide
teachers through Facebook with a lot of online activities and programs to get
themselves busy with the digital world.

Our vision is that trough time we will help all the teachers that need guidance in becoming
the perfect teacher using ICTs and be the loved once by the students.

Problem Identification
ICT is a main subject at this school. They have only a room with tables and chair. No
computers, no air condition, no network. The students are using their smartphone/ tablet or
laptops for the ict class. There are a lot in between who cant afford these, so they are
depended to visit a cyber or looking for another solution.

Vision
Our vision is that the ICT-Room in school has to be fully equipped with the basic facilities
what is needed for an ICT classroom.

Benefits of this Equipping project

1. Efficiency learning of ICT class
2. Students dont has to be depended for an cyber or other solution
3. Other subjects can easily integrated with the ict facilities
4. Teachers can integrate the lesson with ICT, only to make it interesting for the
students

Deliverables
With this project we would like the following

1. We would like to identify the issues why the school SMO cant get an equipped ict
room?
2. Looking for solutions how the schools can have a equipped ict room?
3. Looking for air conditioning, furnitures to make the room feasible
4. To bring a change in the didactical form of the schools by multiple uses of the ict
room.
5. We has to take contact with the network engineering for the network.
6. We has to take permission of MINOWC.

Succescriteria
The SMO school has to be shaped and Internet ready by the end of March 2020. Nowadays
students are attached to internet and if the teachers/school can use that to teach, then the
lessons can be more interesting for the students, because they can use computers, laptops
or their mobiles to search for information.

So the opportunity that we wish to create is that the school can have access to a good
internet infrastructure , because nowadays internet is needed so that teachers and students
can use new methods to teach and learn.

Problem Identification
The problem what we have identified is the strong need of broadband internet connection
at the secondary school.

The problems that we want to address are:

The teachers cant apply the new technology in their teaching, because lack of
internet facilities in the schools, specially ICT- classroom
The students can not go online to search for information in the class
The teachers can not do online educational activities with the students

Vision
Our vision is that the ICT-Room in school has to be connected on broadband internet with
Hotspot facilities.

Students are attached to internet. This is a major point to use the internet facilities in the
school. Teachers can use lacks of apps in their didactical form only to make the lesson
interesting and attractive for the students. In a quickly move the students can search for
information on internet on their smart devices, laptop or pc at school. Now a days internet is
a must. In Suriname there are a lot of schools who has invest in an airconditioned ICT room
with standalone computer/ laptops but the broadband internet connection is missing. At
the SMO (Schakelinstituut Middelbaar Onderwijs) there is only a room, no devices, no
internet, no aircondition. BUT ICT is one of the Major subject.

Benefits of this internet project

Through broadband internet, Teens can access easily to the information they need
Online courses mean more flexibility and learning choices for students
Easier access to up to date information
Teachers can have real data of information
Teachers can integrate the lesson with ICT, only to make it interesting for the
students
Broadband internet will boost the learning to the next level

Nowadays students are attach to internet and if the teachers/school can use that to teach,
the lessons can be more interesting for the students, because they can use computers,
laptops or their mobiles not only to search for information but also integrating it for the
learning.

The opportunity that we wish to create is that all the schools can have access to a good
Guidance for teachers, because nowadays internet is needed so that teachers and students
can use new methods to teach and learn.

Our pilot school is SMO. and there are a few teachers who is familiar with computer basic. So we
start thinking how we could trigger these teachers in using the ict to enhance the learning. To reach
success we launch a Facebook page named: Teachers club suriname, specially for Teachers
or lecturers who would like to convey their lessons using ict tools . On this page the teachers
can find materials of ict tools with tips. Also we give online support through fb chat only to
enhance the education by using the ict tools. Also we planned a teacher training programme
in computer basic programs like window, office basic and internet&email.

Deadline/plan/approach
By the end of 2025 we want to reach at the level that most of the teachers at the secondary
level become ICT minded by using and implementing ICT tools in their lessons.

met enkele taken en functies die u in alle documenten kunt gebruiken.

2. Ms. Office Powerpoint

Microsoft PowerPoint is een computerprogramma van Microsoft dat deel uitmaakt van Microsoft
Office. Het is een pakket waarmee vooral gemakkelijk presentaties gemaakt kunnen worden die
bestaan uit meerdere dia's. Door het gebruik van een eenduidige opmaak kan men eenvoudig mooie,
eenduidige presentaties maken.
Instructie: De student moet een powerpoint presentatie maken en presenteren.
Materiaal: Computer, Ms. Office Powerpoint
Tijd: 3 weken

3. Google drive en dropbox

Google Drive is een service voor bestandsopslag en synchronisatie die is gemaakt en wordt beheerd
door Google. Met Google Drive kunnen documenten in de cloud worden opgeslagen, bestanden
worden gedeeld en documenten samen met anderen worden bewerkt

Dropbox is een clouddienst voor het online opslaan van bestanden. De gebruiker kan met Dropbox
bestanden synchroniseren op verschillende apparaten en ze tegelijkertijd delen met vrienden.
Dropbox synchroniseert bestanden tussen verschillende computers via de Dropbox-client die
hiervoor gebruikmaakt van het internet.

4. Verslag maken over een onderwerp

Het doel van een verslag is een ander informeren over een specifiek onderwerp of over wat je hebt
gedaan. In een verslag wordt op een logische volgorde de informatie gerangschikt en het bestaat
altijd uit een vast aantal onderdelen.

5. Collage

Een collage is een kunstvorm die gebruikmaakt van uitgeknipte of gescheurde stukken papier, die
met lijm op steviger papier of op schildersdoek geplakt worden.
Instructie: De studenten moeten in groepsverband een collage maken en presenteren.
Elke groep heeft 4 studenten. Het onderwerp is aangeven hoe belangrijk ICT is in het dagelijks
leven.
Materiaal: flap, tijdschriften, schaar, plakband, stift
Tijd: 2 weken

6. Blog

Een blog is een soort website waar dagelijks of wekelijks nieuwe berichten verschijnen. Je zou het
een dagboek kunnen noemen. In de meeste gevallen kunnen lezers een reactie plaatsen. Op deze
manier breng je de interactie op gang.
Instructie: De student moeten online gaan opzoeken hoe zij gratis een blog kunnen maken.

De studenten mogen zelf bepalen welke blog ze maken. Zij moeten de gemaakte opdrachten op de
blog plaatsen.

Tijd: 2 weken tot einde opleiding bijwerken

7. Toondoo
ToonDoo is een programma dat wordt gebruikt om te onderwijzen, te leren, je te vermaken, of
verhalen te delen rond de wereld op een leuke / creatieve manier. Met Toondoo kun je gemakkelijk
strips en cartoons maken met slechts een paar klikken.

Instructie: De studenten moeten gaan naar de website:http://www.toondoo.com/Home.do

Elke student moet individueel een willekeurig onderwerp online uitzoeken en een toondoo maken.
De student moet de toondoo met de docent en medestudenten delen.
Materiaal: Computer, Internet
Tijd: 2 weken

8. Puzzel

Puzzlemaker is een puzzel generatie tool voor leerkrachten, leerlingen en ouders.

Instructie: De studenten moeten gaan naar de website: https://www.discoveryeducation.com/free-
puzzlemaker/
Elke student moet individueel een keuze maken uit de verschillende soorten puzzels en 2 maken. De
student moet de gemaakte puzzel printen/kopiren en delen met de rest van de klas.

Tijd: 2 weken

9. Popplet

Popplet is een online grafische organisator. Popplet lijkt op een digitaal prikbord, maar ook op een
presentatietool. Met Popplet kun je, na gratis registratie, een prikbord met multimedia-'sticky notes'
maken dat je kunt delen met anderen.
Instructie: Elke student moet individueel informatie online zoeken over 5 verschillende onderwerpen.
Daarna moeten de studenten gaan naar de website:http://popplet.com/
Elke student moet 5 popplet maken en een van de de 5 moeten zij presenteren aan deklas.

10. Mindmapping

Een mindmap is een diagram opgebouwd uit begrippen, teksten, relaties en/of plaatjes, die zijn
geordend in de vorm van een boomstructuur rond een centraal thema. Een mindmap wordt gebruikt
om creatieve processen te ondersteunen en bij leren en onthouden.

Tijd: 2 weken

11. Scamper (brainstorm method)

De Scamper methode gaat uit van een vragenlijst. De eerste letters van de vragen vormen samen het
acroniem SCAMPER. De brainstormmethode stimuleert je vragen te stellen die nieuwe invalshoeken
forceren. Scamper is gebaseerd op de gedachte dat alles dat nieuw is een combinatie is van
bestaande zaken. Scamper is vooral geschikt voor het bedenken van een nieuw product of dienst.
Scamper methode stap voor stap
Substitute: Vervang componenten, materialen, mensen.
Combine: Wat is te combineren met andere producten of diensten? Waar is synergie te vinden?
Adapt: Voeg functies van andere producten of diensten toe.
Modify: Is het te vergroten, verkleinen of veranderen?
Put to another purpose: In welke markt is dit nog meer gebruiken?
Eliminate: Verwijder onderdelen, terug naar de basisfunctie.
Reverse: Is het om te draaien, binnenstebuiten te keren of in een andere volgorde te plaatsen?

Instructie: De studenten moeten in groepen van 2 een product uitzoeken en de samper methoden
toepassen.

12. Exel

Excel is een van de programma's uit het Office-kantoorpakket van Microsoft. Het is bedoeld als
rekenprogramma. Daarmee wordt bedoeld dat u er berekeningen mee kunt uitvoeren voor allerlei
verschillende doelen. Het wordt zowel door bedrijven als door particulieren gebruikt
