Classroom Procedures

1. Students are to be prepared, seated, and working on bell work by the time to tardy bell rings.
2. Students are expected to borrow, rent, or purchase supplies that they do not have prepared.
3. Students are to ask permission to leave the room for any reason (except in cases of emergency).
4. Only one student is permitted to leave the classroom at a time; they must sign in/out including a
time and destination and they must take hall pass.
5. Students are expected to be engaged and respectful. Offensive, hateful, prejudice, slanderous, or
otherwise comments or actions will not be tolerated.
6. Students are to raise their hands to contribute to class discussion.
7. Students are expected to be engaged and participatory during class and complete all class and
homework.
8. Students are to remain in their assigned seats unless they are sharpening a pencil, throwing away
trash, or have other permission to be up.
9. Additional classroom seating (corner chairs and sofa) is only to be used with teacher permission
and is on a first come first serve basis. These areas are reserved for projects and group work.
10. Students may only open the door if they recognize who is on the other side. The teacher is
otherwise the only person to open the classroom door,
11. The bell does not dismiss students; the teacher does. Upon closure and exiting the room, students
are to turn in all completed work and tidy up their workspace regardless of who made the mess.
12. The doorway and turn in bin area should be clear and free of any clutter and crowds.
13. If a student is absent, they may check the while you were out basket to retrieve their missed
assignments and directions. Students have as many days as they were absent to complete their
work.
14. Students are to turn in work on its due date. Late work will be accepted with a 5 point penalty for
each day that it is passed the due date.
15. Students are to use pencil or a color ink that is legible for written work. All research papers and
extending essays are to be typed.
16. The teacher will assign collaborative groups and partners.
17. Mobile devices are not permitted unless otherwise noted.
18. Small snacks and drinks are permitted in the classroom at the teachers discretion. The teacher
must break the seal on all food and drink items brought into the classroom.
19. Usable/unmarked scrap paper will be collected for use in ISNs.
20. In addition to other classroom expectations and procedures, all school mandated policies are also
expected to be followed at all times.
