SECUENCIA DIDCTICA

INICIO (10 minutos)

El docente ingresa al aula y saluda a los estudiantes diciendo: Good morning / Good afternoon, segn
sea el caso.
El docente escribe en la pizarra How was your weekend? y coloca imgenes de tres caras:

Los estudiantes responden la pregunta How was your weekend? expresando sus sentimientos de
acuerdo a las imgenes. El docente anota las respuestas en la pizarra y luego coloca tarjetas lxicas
con adjetivos expresando emociones.

El docente escribe la respuesta haciendo uso del verbo to be en pasado: It was great!

El docente indica a los estudiantes que hoy conversarn acerca de eventos pasados.

DESARROLLO (30 minutos)

El docente coloca en la pizarra imgenes de tres deportistas destacados y solicita a los estudiantes que los
reconozcan y describan.

Se presenta a los estudiantes tres textos sobre los deportistas:

The year was 1958. The
place was Stockholm,
Sweden. The event was
the World Cup Final. The
teams were Sweden and
Brazil. The result was
Brazil 5, Sweden 2 and
the hero was 17 years
old. His name was Pele.
In 1988, Gabriela Prez del
Solar was 20 years old and
that year the Olympic
Games were in Seoul, Korea.
Gaby was a great volleyball
player from Ica, Peru. She
was the winner of one silver
medal. The result was Peru
2, Russia 3.
The Olympic Games were
in Beijing, China in 2008.
The hero was a fantastic
swimmer who was born
in Baltimore, United
States. He was 23 years
old when he won 8 gold
medals. His name was
Michael Phelps.

Se solicita a los estudiantes trabajar en pares y leer sus respuestas haciendo uso del verbo to be en el
pasado:

The year was 1958, the place was Stockholm, Sweden. The event was the World Cup Final
and the teams were Brazil and Sweden. The result was Brazil 5 and Sweden 2. The hero
was Pele who was 17 years old.

Luego los estudiantes responden las siguientes preguntas en pares:

Where were you born?
How old were you in 2009?
Were you at school yesterday?
What grade were you in 2012?
Was English your favorite subject?
Was your best friend in Mancora last vacation?
How were the beaches?
Who was/were your hero(es) when you were younger?

Algunos estudiantes voluntarios dicen las respuestas en voz alta para toda la clase. Todos corrigen la
actividad.
Se explica a los estudiantes que recibirn una ficha para realizar una actividad grupal (Anexo 1) donde tendrn
que completar la forma correcta del verbo to be y una palabra requerida.
Cada vez que los estudiantes completen la oracin doblan la hoja cubriendo la respuesta de manera que el
siguiente estudiante no vea la respuesta, de esa manera la ficha va rotando de miembro a miembro hasta que
la ficha est completa y llegue al estudiante a quien le pertenece.
El docente requiere que los estudiantes lean sus oraciones sobre sus vacaciones pasadas con la informacin
de todos los miembros del equipo.

CIERRE (10 minutos)

Los estudiantes realizarn una actividad de produccin oral: Famous people quiz. Para desarrollarlo, se les
entrega una ficha a cada alumno (Quiz A and Quiz B) (Anexo 2).
Se solicita a los estudiantes leer las preguntas y subrayar el verbo correcto. Luego trabajan en equipos de
cuatro (dos estudiantes con el Quiz A y los otros dos con el Quiz B) y se disponen a hacer las preguntas sobre
las personas famosas que estn en las fichas dndoles las alternativas.
Se modela la actividad para verificar que todos hayan comprendido las indicaciones.
El docente monitorea la actividad y brinda apoyo a los estudiantes que lo necesitan.
Los estudiantes que respondan correctamente la pregunta obtienen un punto.
Al finalizar la actividad, se comunicar al docente sobre los equipos ganadores.
