Write a case note on:

Lateness: It is Law School policy that late assignments will not be accepted in the absence of
a successful application for disruption to studies. Assignments that are submitted late with no
explanation will not be marked and a zero mark will be recorded.

FAIL (49% AND BELOW)
- incorrect file uploaded or assignment submitted late without a successful application
for special consideration
- poor or incorrect identification of relevant issues and impact of case
- poor or incorrect statements or analysis of court or individual judges decisions
- shows little or no indication that case has been read and understood
- inappropriate and/or irrelevant content;
- plagiarism, use of other students work, recycling own work from other units;
- difficult to read and/or understand through poor grammar, expression or structure.

PASS (50% - 64%)


- reasonable discussion of facts, ratio and impact of case
- attempts to analyse case, but does not follow through with reasoned argument;
- descriptive summary of material relevant to question;
- superficial use of material and tendency to paraphrase and/or quote heavily;
- reasonable compliance with AGLC citation requirements
- heavy reliance on secondary sources
- adequate expression.

CREDIT (65%-74%)
- concise and accurate discussion of facts and ratio of case
- good attempt to identify the contribution that the case makes to relevant areas of law
- contains no significant errors and covers relevant issues well;
- some articulation of original argument, analysis and evaluation of issues;
- good compliance with AGLC citation requirements
- good use of material relevant to question;
- has clear structure and clear expression

DISTINCTION (75%-84%)
- concise, relevant and accurate statements of facts and ratio;
- clear identification and analysis of important issues
- strong and original articulation of the contribution that the case makes to relevant
areas of law;
- no mistakes in AGLC citation requirements
- excellent use of material relevant to question;
- excellent expression and free from errors

HIGH DISTINCTION (85% and above)


- satisfies all the criteria for a Distinction; and
- contains striking originality in analysis;
- innovative use of material relevant to the question;
- exceptionally well written and exceptionally well-structured.
