Exam

I. Introduction

The movie was merely composed of 10 Casts, John Lloyd Fillingham, Gemma Chan,

Adar Beck, Pollyana McIntosh, Luke Mably, Jimi Mistry, Nathalie Cox, Chuk Iwuji, Colin Salmon

and the guard, each of these casts has their own circumstances leading the 8 aside from the guard

and the Invigilator, to apply for the position as Assistant of the CEO, and all of them were

interested in the job due to their own personal interests/motives, may it be monetary, other benefits,

and whatever hidden agenda they may have. Each of them, having their own nicknames as they

keep their real identities hidden. The whole movie was set inside a single room, thus it would make

you believe that it is a low cost film, in which it probably is, but the story definitely gave the movie

more value than what is actually spent on creating the movie. Given the cinematics, it was also

done in a way that it makes you forget that all the scenes are actually made in one location, until

you try to actually divulge the film.

II. Exec. Summary

The movie started by introducing the casts while also giving a glimpse of their identities

and also it somehow shows how they came from different backgrounds and cultures, having their

own personalities, one being assertive, one being arrogant, one being nervous, basically everything

that you could expect people to feel/ show during important times in their lives. The movie was

entirely unpredictable, all things being based on logic and facts, people creating their own

assumptions of something that can be answered by anyone in their own way given the difference in

perspective, just like what the first candidate did, answering the paper based on a question she

formulated from what usually occurs during a typical exam, like Why do you think you should be

hired?. Basically, if you ignore all the flaws or what youd say as the context the producers wants
you to be in, the movie in a lot of ways was totally able to represent on how recruitment works,

although not literally but it shows the value that is given to it by the people in the company and also

the strenuous processes and thoughts that are given and the aspirants go through.

III. Review and Evaluation

The movie was at least in the beginning, psychological in many ways, as it somehow from

time to time showcases violent scenes caused by desperation, pressure and other negative emotions,

although these scenes also aids in stimulating the imagination of the viewers in terms of the

consideration of all possible solutions as to the answer of the exam. Although, it was somehow

noticeable how the producers would want to lead the viewers into a certain aspect, that is, science

and human psychology, which probably composes a great part of Human Resource as a function.

IV. Conclusion

Overall, the movie gave a kind of representation of how the recruitment process works,

how the organization set its own standard and rules in terms of what kind of employee they would

want to have in their company, all including the set of skills, the mindset and ethics of that person,

and that if their work environment would actually suit the person. The movie showed a depiction of

how aspirants showcase all their skills and compete with their co-applicant, in order to prove that

they are the right person for the job, and the competition becomes more intense given that they

dont know anything about whom they are going against, that also reflected in the movie where

their identities were not disclosed. It was also a given that the recruiting company gave due

importance to the selection process and also how intricate the process to earn the job, given how

many screenings the aspirants went through, it shows that companies just doesnt hire people just

because they need people, but they also would want to make sure that the person they are going to

hire would actually be able to survive given the responsibilities that comes along with their job and

that the person would be able to integrate into the companys culture.
