Electro Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities and Duties

1. Perform with subcontractors and General Contractor to oversee IBA equipment installation.
2. Ensure to complete installation needs as stated by site management.
3. Design and develop products and systems like cables, connectors and penetrators.
4. Prepare guidelines and procedures to develop company products as per specifications and
schedules using safest and cost-effective processes.
5. Research and evaluate data for customer design proposal, parameters and manuals to identify
design and application feasibility.
6. Develop and maintain relations with other departments for optimum product development
focusing toward product standardization.
7. Direct and coordinate installation of fabrication activities to ensure systems and products comply
with electro-mechanical engineering design along with customer specifications.
8. Review and approve electro-mechanical engineering designs before manufacture to ensure
design review conformance and repetitive errors elimination.
9. Provide technical assistance to clients and companys representatives.
10. Interact with motor design engineer and chief engineer to utilize engineering data for defining and
developing design concepts to attain client requirements.
11. Develop preliminary, final as well as working layouts related to electro-mechanical engineering.
12. Estimate engineering time and complete dimensional studies of projects.
13. Perform calculations, qualify, analyze and test units.
14. Evaluate, interpret and execute commercial, military and customer specifications for materials,
processes and finishes.
15. Interact with customers, vendors and other outside representatives on specific matters related
with product design.

16. Confer with production, test, purchasing and sales to discuss existing or potential engineering
projects and products.
17. Confer with management, production, sales and purchasing staff to determine engineering
feasibility, cost effectiveness and customer demand for new and existing products.
18. Direct and coordinate manufacturing support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure
compliance with specifications, and customer requirements.
19. Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing specifications.
20. Prepare and communicate specifications for purchase of materials and equipment/tooling when
necessary.
21. Examine, prepare and verify technical drawings and specifications of electrical systems, to
ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements. May
draft detailed multi-view drawings of assemblies and sub assemblies.
22. Analyze engineering sketches, specifications and related data and drawings to determine design
factors.
23. Modify design to correct operating deficiencies and/or reduce production issues.
24. Confer with document originators to resolve discrepancies and compile required changes to ISO
work instructions and other related documents.
25. Design and plan the layout of electrical assemblies to customer requirements; communicating
details with Manufacturing and Test.
26. Direct field testing of products and systems on first run items.
27. Responsible for the preparation of estimates, cost reports, forecasts, schedules, account
codes, budgets, and change orders.
28. Coordinates quantity estimates by obtaining and analyzing data on unit labor costs and unit
material costs to reduce costs and increase production. Communications and updates
estimates, schedules, reports, and documents based on revisions and changes to the project .
Responsible for the preparation of final project reports including obtaining historical data and
information. Conducts a quality check of all documents and reports, verifying accuracy of data,
information, and calculations. Assists in preparing and maintaining the departmental policies,
procedures, and manuals.

1) Specify, coordinate, or conduct quality-control or quality-assurance programs and

13) Analyze engineering designs of logic or digital circuitry, motor controls, instrumentation,
or data acquisition for implementation into new or existing automated, servomechanical, or
other electromechanical systems.

14) Conduct statistical studies to analyze or compare production costs for sustainable and
nonsustainable designs.
15) Determine whether selected electromechanical components comply with environmental
standards and regulations.

16) Identify energy-conserving production or fabrication methods, such as by bending metal


rather than cutting and welding or casting metal.

17) Test and analyze thermodynamic systems for renewable energy applications, such as
solar or wind, to maximize energy production.

II. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY OF MEP ENGINEER MEP Engineer is a single level
professional classification responsible for planning and design in the area of Mechanical, Electrical and
plumbing (MEP) system including developing policies standard, inspection procedure and evaluation tools
for MEP matters involving judicial branch facilities, along with prepare, reviewdrawing, specification and
cost estimates for the mechanical, Electrical, and /or Plumbing. MEP Engineer has to develop best practice
and maintenance management measure including the review and update of standard on a routine basic.
MEP Engineer has to develops policies/review and standards for capital projects, facilitydatabase, and
master plan information.
MEP Engineer conduct engineering and feasibility and economics studies and prepare reports on finding
develops standard for design and technical specification, investigates new MEP design concept and
technical development of systems which are applicable to engineering problem. MEP engineer has to
review plans and specification according to plan. MEP Engineer has to manages oversee the work of
subordinate staff contact architects or Engineer. MEP Engineer has to prepare plans, details, specified and
cost estimated of plumbing, heating, ventilating, air conditioning and general piping system. MEP
Engineer has to provide technical advice to staff designer,supervisor,inspector and contracting service
provider, regarding installation and maintenance of MEP System. MEP System has to analyze mechanical,
Electrical and /or plumbing engineering problems and formulate solutions. MEP Engineer has to identify
problems in design, plan, manageand deliver multiple projects. MEP Engineer has to plan, organize review
and evaluate the work of consultant,contractor and others. MEP Engineer has to knowledge of MS office,
AutoCAD and Project management software. MEP Engineer has to prepare and deliver effective oral
presentation whenever required.

III. MECHANICAL ELECTRICAL & PLUMBING Mechanical - HVAC (Heating Venting and Air
conditioning). Electrical lighting fixtures, switches, outlets, panels, appliances, etc. Plumbing - pipes,
fixtures & fittings; water supply/distribution, and waste removal. Common types of Mechanical System
