Father God,
Thank you for loving me and taking care of me. Bless my church, Pastor Ron and his
family. Bless my teachers for teaching me Your Word. I believe your love is flowing
through me to other people. Help me to obey my parents so things will go well with
me and I will live a long life on the earth. I will tell how great You are and how much I
love You. I thank You that by Jesus stripes I am healed in my body and my soul.

Jesus Christ submitted Himself completely to the will of God. Though it
meant death, it ultimately became His greatest glory.
Philippians 2:8b, He became obedient unto death, even the death of
the cross.
God shows us over and over in scripture that being obedient is very important
to Him. It is not for His own good that God wants us to obey Him, but it is
for our good. Father God created us and knows what we are good at, what we
need help with, and exactly what He created us to do. Everyone was made
with a plan by God. To make sure we follow His plan God sometimes puts
things in our lives to test our obedience.
Abrahams faith in God was so great that he is called the Father of Faith, but
even Abraham had his faith tested by God. He was told to offer his son as a
burnt offering. To do this Abraham would have to love God and obey Him
more than he loved his son. He was obedient and God stopped him before
Isaac was hurt. Because Abraham did not withhold his son from God, God
blessed all the nations through him. Many years later, Jesus Christ submitted to
His Fathers will, even when it meant being put to shame, hanging on a cross,
and dying.
As Christians, we must follow His example. Giving up our selfish nature to do
things Gods way is putting God first. This may mean that we dont get to do
what we want to do when we want to do it. God uses the time between His
will and our happiness to teach us obedience. Everything we give up to follow
Christ is given back to us with Gods blessing on it.
