extruded products with total capacity of
app. 50 000 tons per year. Over the past
28 years the company has successfully
developed itself as one of the major
aluminium producers in the Balkans and
has gained recognition as a reliable
partner on both foreign and domestic
markets.

of aluminium and aluminium alloys enable
ALCOMET to produce a wide range of rolled and
extruded products in accordance with the
EN standards.
The technical and qualitative indices for all
company products are in conformity with the
international standards ISO 9001/2000 and EN.
Our current product range includes:
Rolled products:
 Insulation and cable foil;
 Container foil;
 Converter foil;
 Household foil in jumbo reels;
 Cold-rolled strips and sheets with possibilities
for stucco embossing and powder coating
(sheets).
Extrusions:
 Standard and special profiles, with possibilities
for anodizing and powder coating.
Billets:
 Diameter 6 and 8 inches.
The companys investment policy comprises
funding the modernization of the manufacturing
equipment and technologies as well as
investments in environmental protection.
As one of the major Bulgarian producers in the
field of non-ferrous metallurgy we are well aware
of our responsibility and we work upon
accomplishment of effective solutions to protect
the environment and human health.

Technologies
After the complete revamping of all four rolling
mills in 2003 and the continuous casting lines in
2006, we commissioned one new lubrication-
slitting line for container foil and one new Washing
and Coiling/Cut-to-Length line in 2009.
All these enable ALCOMET to compete successfully
on the market for more sophisticated sheet and
strip products, such as strips for heat-shields in
cars, noise-protection panels on highways, window
spacers, traffic signs, etc. At the same time our
marketing efforts are committed to the promotion
of a new foil products recently integrated into our
production program container foil.
The plant consists of three main production
divisions:
Casting Shop with four Melting Furnaces and
five automatic continuous casting lines for
manufacture of aluminium coils, one Tilting
Furnace and one Wagstaff Billet Caster.
Rolling Shop with four rolling mills and
auxiliary equipment for the production of a wide
variety of strips, sheets and foils.
Extrusion Shop with three extrusion presses
and facilities for anodizing and powder coating
of profiles.

Our extrusion mill has been fully modernized in
the past three years with the complete overhaul
of the main 2000-tons press, the purchase of two
new presses 1350-tons and 1800-tons,
two heat-treatment furnaces and the recent
acquisition of an automatic packaging line.
With an extensive profile catalogue covering
nearly 4000 different shapes, own design
department and a die shop, we at ALCOMET have
the possibility to offer all our customers tailor-
made solutions to meet their individual needs.
We are in a process of negotiations for a new Foil
Breakdown Mill and have also started feasibility
studies for a new 5000-tons press.

wedged hard wood spacers and secured with
plastic bands. Standard dimensions for the

Automatic packaging
his type of packaging is fully automatic. Profiles can
be single or in packs, protected with polyethylene foil
and pallets are wrapped with stretch-foil on the
external side. For each package, wooden blocks are
placed on the top and bottom, which in turn are
linked together with multilayer stretch-foil. The blocks
are arranged at various locations, depending on the
length of the package, which provides for the easy
unloading and transportation stability.
We always recommend automatic packaging to our
customers, since in this way the profiles are best
protected from the impact of atmospheric conditions
during their transportation and storage.
We offer our customers the convenience to
choose between three types of basic profile
packaging and a non-standard one in
accordance to their requirements and by
negotiation.
Manual packaging
The materials used are corrugated cardboard or
polyethylene, as well as paper between profiles.
The arrangement of the profiles is according to
customers requirements. To secure the
packaged profiles and aiming at their stability
during the transport, we place wooden blocks
on all sides of the package, tightened with a
metal or plastic band.
Semi-automatic packaging
Packaging is done by arranging the profiles
manually. On request of the customer it is also
possible to place paper between profiles.
Externally, they are wrapped automatically with
stretch-foil.
For each package, wooden blocks are placed
on the upper and lower side, which in turn are
linked together with multilayer stretch-foil.
The blocks are arranged at various locations,
depending on the length of the package,
which provides for the easy unloading and
transportation stability.
