Justice: A Man is suspected of murder

BANG!, a loud noise of a gunshot woke me up in the middle of a Sunday night. I quickly

climbed off my bed and looked outside the balcony. Yet, I saw nothing but darkness and just

sparkles of light from the other buildings. Nothing from the balcony view seemed to be the source

of the gun shot. With my courage, I walked towards the entrance door of my apartment. I was

determined see what was going on.

From afar, I could see a man in a black coat sitting next to what seemed like a dead body.

The only thing I knew at that moment was to call the police. I, at first, ran back and phoned 911.

It took them about fifteen minutes to the reach the destination. Once I was sure that the police

had arrived, I went through the apartment door, again. Before the police could say anything, I

explained what I saw. While I was trying to tell them to put that man in a jail immediately, they

then explained the procedure of the court. They said that it would be illegal to put a person in the

jail without going through a fair trial since the man was only a suspected murderer, he has the

right to be involved in a fair legal process.

It was already midnight, more and more people started to gather around crime scene

where the suspected murderer was also present. Everyone blamed him. Suddenly, a woman

shouted He deserves to be killed. Peoples heads were nodding, they all seemed to agree, but

the police finally settled everyone and told them that it is depended on the types of crime that he

has committed. If this incidence was accidentally done, then he may have to go to jail without

other types of penalty. However, he will receive a severe punishment if he was found

intentionally murdering the man.

A week later, the suspected murderer was sent to the court with the rest of the witnesses.

Although he could not afford to hire a lawyer, the government gave him support to hire one from
its organization. This is due to the fact that every citizen must have the right to have equal

resources. Nevertheless, the evidence was clear that the suspected man is the actual murderer so,

his lawyer could not do anything much about the situation. The murderer was therefore sent to a

jail in which he also had to compensate for the loss of the dead person. In other words, he had to

pay some money to that persons family as a compensation for the funeral arrangement and the

familys grievances.
