S1C2PO3: Describe the ways that World War II transformed the USA
Academic Standard Today I will describe how the American people changed their behavior by rationing during
WWII

Today I will describe how the war affected the American people by creating war propaganda
Content Objective convincing Americans to buy War Bonds, Grow Victory Gardens, Ration, or for Women to join the
workforce

Today I will describe how entering World War II changed our perspective and open doors for many back
Language Objective home since men were off fighting, women were left to do other jobs, as well as children, then transition to
rationing and how it helped the war effort, as well as including more ways that helped the war effort

Anticipatory Set/ Bellwork will be based on rationing and we will watch a Looney Tunes propaganda video about buying war
Building Background bonds and students will be introduced to World War II Propaganda cartoons convincing us to grow victory
gardens and one about Rosie the Riveter, as well as the draft.
