 Purpose of the Program
2017 UST Global Research Internship aims to provide talented
international students with opportunities to experience unique
education system of UST centered on field research by participating
in the research project at one of our campuses as an intern.

 Qualification for Participation
An applicant should satisfy any of the following conditions.
A Korean national residing abroad who has completed elementary, middle,
and high school educationor education equivalent to those abroad.
A foreign national, whose parent and him/herself are all non-Korean nationals
who is enrolled in or graduated from the partner universities of UST.
Refer to the [Appendix 1] for the list of the universities.
An applicant should satisfy all of the following requirements.
He or she should be proficient in English.
He or she should be enrolled in(or taking a leave of absence at) a
university or a graduate school when submitting application.
He or she should be able to attend both of the orientation on the
July 3(Mon) and the ceremony of disbanding on the August 25(Fri).

Internship Period
The internship period is around 2 months from July 4(Tue) to August
24(Thu), 2017.

Benefits for the Interns

Round-trip airline tickets will be offered only for the interns from abroad.
Documentation required when applying for D4 visa will be sent by
post for the successful applicants if necessary.
Accommodation will be offered by each campus. It may cost a little.
Orientation will be held at the UST main office. It will provide a
guide on the internship program, lectures on safety rules at
laboratory and other special theme, etc.
Not only Academic Advisor, but also Mentor will be designated among
the researchers at each campus for you to help adapting to campus life.

 Monthly stipend will be given at the end of every months during the
internship period. 1,200,000 won(equivalent to about 1,000 U.S.
dollars) will be provided for a graduate student per month. 900,000
won(equivalent to about 800 U.S. dollars) will be provided for an
undergraduate student per month.
Insurance against sickness and injury will be offered during the internship.
Ceremony of disbanding will be held at the UST main office. Participants
may be required to give a presentation on their activities conducted
during the internship. Best performers will be awarded. Admission
guide will be also given during the ceremony.

How to Apply
An applicant should fill out an attached application form and pint it out.
Sign it and send its scanned file to pje@ust.ac.kr before 6:00 p.m.
Korean time(GMT+9) on April 18(Tue), 2017.
A scanned file of the Certificate of enrollment(Certificate of leave of absence)
should be attached together when you submit the application.
Recommendation letter can be attached only if the applicant is from
one of the partner universities of UST, and the letter is signed by the
president or one of the deans of the University.
Any documentation which might be helpful for the evaluation such
as English Grade Transcript can be attached.
