Training and Development: Role and activity of HRD and training specialist; Principles or
concepts of training, learning and learning theories, Principles of learning, learning curve, training
policy, Identification of training and development needs; Designing, training and development
activity; Designing and Conducting specific training programme for managers; Supervisors and
worker, on-the job, off-the job, training evaluation, principles of evaluation, improving
effectiveness of training. Training cost/benefit analysis, Training transfer, Human capital/training
metrics and Role of technology. Use of leadership development and competency development.
Objective:
The objective of this paper is to make student aware of the concepts, techniques and practices of
human resource development. It makes students capable of applying the principles and techniques
as professionals for developing human resources in an organization.
