Procedure Assessment Methods

Introduction Review: Formative: check for
3 mins o Circle symbolism understanding thought class
o Vocab prizes (students who point out vocab discussion
get prizes)

Body of Lesson Reading: Read chapter 3

(40 minutes)
Activity: Gallery walk go over gallery walk
instructions there will be 3 chart paper placed
around the room with different opinion statements
on them students must read the statement and
choose whether they agree or disagree with the
statement- after everyone has gotten a chance to
chose how they feel we will have a class discussion
allowing those who agree and disagree to state their
opinions
Formative: class discussion
Note: We have talked a lot
about being able to argue your
opinion when picking agree
or disagree the students must
be able to argue why
Closure If time: Write a short paragraph: chose one of the Formative: check for
(10 min.) statements and write whether you agree or disagree completion
and why

Gallery walk posters:

1. Juvenile delinquents (like Cole) are a result of a broken down family or community?
2. Does Cole deserve to go to Jail for what he did or does he deserve a second chance?
3. Actions speak louder than words.
4. Touch is an essential human need.
