WORK EXPERIENCE

From 02/09 Till Date Working as an Assistant Professor in Materials Science & Engineering
Department of Institute of Space Technology, Islamabad.
o I am actively involved in teaching various materials related
courses,
o Various research & development projects, Final year projects are
under my supervision.
o Successfully organized ICASE-2009 and DICE - 2010 in
collaboration with academia and industry.

01/ 2007 Worked as an Assistant Manager in Advanced Materials Department

of Advanced Engineering and Research Organization.

o Robustly involved in the failure analysis of aerospace alloys.

o Being as a part of research squad, I have been vigorously involved
in case studies related to metallurgy and corrosion engineering.
o I was also responsible for all the foremost research and
development activities of Advanced Materials department.

07/06 to 08/06 Oil and Gas Development Company Limited, Islamabad, Pakistan
o Gained confidence in understanding the process involved in
exploration and production of hydrocarbons in context with
corrosion and materials.
o Visited OGDCL sites in order to enhance the technical skills and
understanding promptly the corrosion monitoring techniques.
o Suggested several corrosion evaluation techniques which were
required to implement on the visited plants in order to enhance the
safe production of hydrocarbons.

03/05-06/06 Post graduate research project, University of Manchester, UK.

Area of research was to study the effect of intermetallics on
localized corrosion of AA2024 aluminium alloy which was
partially funded by AIRBUS A380. In view of civil, military
aircraft fleets continue to age, the research is of technological
importance as well as of significant scientific interest, and very
timely. Presented my research work in the postgraduate
conference in the School of Materials, Manchester.

09/01 to 08/02 Deewan Salman Fibres, Taxila, as Trainee Engineer in an Industrial

Plant
o Worked in the main workshop of the factory under great pressure.
o Strengthened my technological skills and improved managerial
abilities by controlling the flow of more than three hundred people
in a shift.
o Ensuring materials are well suited for its purpose through means
of microscopic testing. Examining the properties of the materials
allowed the distinguishing of failing materials, which are returned
to the manufacturers, and succeeding materials to go onwards for
delivery.
o Generating reports for failed materials
o Precision of work vital to maintain the integrity and respect of the
company

ANALYTICALTECHNIQUES
o Scanning electron microscopy with EDX analysis.
o Transmission electron microscopy with EDX analysis.
o Atomic force microscopy.
o Optical microscopy.
HONORS/AWARDS/VISITS

o Distinction in MS in Corrosion engineering.

o I have been awarded Engineering and Physical Sciences Research
Council (EPSRC) scholarship for PhD in corrosion engineering in
the University of Manchester.
o I have been awarded an opportunity to present my research work
in postgraduate student conference in the school of materials,
Manchester, UK.
o On the basis of distinction in masters, I have worked with
AIRBUS sponsored project for six months.
o Visited several collaborative industries including Alcan
Aluminium, Alcoa International, Airbus and Rolls Royce.
o Chief organiser of Society of Metallurgist and Materials Scientist
(SOMAMS) UET Lahore.

Computer Skills Excellent in Office 2000/XP/WebCt and Internet Web Services.
