Start By:
a. Remove the body and canopy.
b. Remove rear tires and rims.
At operating temperature, the oil in the power train is hot and under
pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. Remove the breather lter cap when

the engine is stopped and the breather cap is cool enough to touch by
hand.
Slowly loosen the breather lter cap in order to release any pressure in
the oil tank. Be careful of hot hydraulic oil when any lines are
disconnected from the components of the power train.
Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.
Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the
engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is
not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.
Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, oil is cool before
removing any components or lines. Remove the oil ller cap only when
the engine is stopped, and the ller cap is cool enough to touch with your
bare hand.

2. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Use of Wheel Chocks".
3. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Differential and Final Drive Oil - Change" for the correct
draining and lling procedure.
4. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hoist and Brake Tank Oil - Change" for the correct draining
and lling procedure.
5. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Torque Converter and Transmission Oil - Change" for the
correct draining and lling procedure.

6. Use Tooling (A) to support the front of the machine.
7. Disconnect hose assembly (1). Disconnect clips (2). Remove cover (3). Disconnect harness assembly (4).
Remove drive shaft guard (5).
8. Position suitable blocking in the center tube to support the weight of the drive shaft.
9. Attach a suitable lifting device onto drive shaft (6). The weight of drive shaft (6) is approximately 68 kg
(150 lb).
10. Remove bolts (7). Use a suitable prybar to retract drive shaft (6). Lower drive shaft (6) onto the suitable
blocking.
11. Disconnect hose assemblies (8).
14. Disconnect harness assembly (11). Disconnect hose assemblies (12).
17. Disconnect hose assembly (15). Disconnect harness assembly (16) and remove the connecting hardware.
18. Disconnect hose assembly (17).
19. Disconnect tube assembly (18). Remove clamps (19). Disconnect hose (20). Remove tube assembly (18).
20. Disconnect tube assembly (21). Remove clamps (22). Disconnect hose (23). Remove tube assembly (21).
21. Use Tooling (A) to support both sides of the frame assembly.
22. Remove bolts (24) and guard (25). Disconnect grease hose assembly (26). Remove grease tting (27) from
the pin.
23. Disconnect grease hose assembly (28).
24. Remove bolts (29). Remove plate (30).
25. Remove pin assembly (31).
26. Repeat Step 22 through Step 25 for the remaining suspension cylinder.
29. Disconnect bracket (34). Remove clips (35). Disconnect hose assembly (36). Remove clips (37).
30. Remove bolts (38) and position lubrication group (39) out of the way.
31. Remove bolt (40). Remove retainer plates (41).

32. Attach a suitable lifting device onto lateral control rod (42). The weight of lateral control rod (42) is
approximately 113 kg (250 lb). Remove pin assembly (43). Lower lateral control rod (42) onto the rear
axle housing.
33. Install Tooling (F) to support axle housing support (44). Repeat this step for the opposite side.
34. Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device onto transmission (45). The weight of transmission (45) is
approximately 1905 kg (4203 lb).
35. Attach Tooling (C), Tooling (D), and a suitable lifting device onto rear axle housing (46). The weight of
rear axle housing (46) and transmission (45), as a unit, is approximately 16783 kg (37000 lb).
36. Use Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to secure rear suspension cylinder (47) out of the way. Repeat
this step for the remaining suspension cylinder.
37. Remove bolts (48) and bolts (49).
38. Remove Tooling (E).
39. Use Tooling (B), Tooling (C), and Tooling (D) to remove rear axle housing (45) and transmission (46).
Installation Procedure
1. Install rear axle housing (45) and transmission (46) in the reverse order of removal.
a. Tighten bolts (48) and (49) in a cross pattern to a torque of 700 90 Nm (516 66 lb ft). Repeat
this to ensure that all bolts are properly seated. When bolts (48) and (49) are seated torque bolts to a
nal torque of 2300 300 Nm (1696 221 lb ft).
b. Tighten bolts (7) to a torque of 550 20 Nm (406 15 lb ft).

31. Remove bolt (40). Remove retainer plates (41).

37. Remove bolts (48) and bolts (49).

38. Remove Tooling (E).

b. Tighten bolts (7) to a torque of 550 20 Nm (406 15 lb ft).
