The theme of the new curriculum is for students to investigate what it means to be Canadian. Unit 4 Citizenship and Democratic Government. As
well this will examine the changes in Canadian culture throughout much of the s onward. Name of student please print: ALL students are

Identity, has been assigned to all grade eight students. Student is approaching expectations. We will explore the changes Canada went through
after the First World War. Unit 3 Canada in the 20 th Century. The new text is divided up into the following units: Missed quizzes, presentations,
etc. Unit 5 Citizenship and Democratic Government. I will also use the following 5-point marking scheme to complement the A-D scale: Grade 8
Social Studies. New Century, New Ideas. B The student demonstrates achievement of most of the expected learning outcomes addressed during

Geographic Influences on Identity. Grade 8 Social Studies Curriculum Outcomes. This unit will ask Grade Eight students to become more aware
of what it means to be a citizen and gain a better understanding of the functioning of government. Letter Grade Description of Student Achievement
on Expected Learning Outcomes A The student consistently demonstrates achievement of the expected learning outcomes addressed during the
current reporting period. This unit will examine Canada as a nation full of an assortment of different cultures and beliefs. Late assignments The
ability to meet deadlines is an important skill to learn and students will be held accountable for late assignments. All assignments must be handed in
on time. This includes the Great depression, the Second World War and the variety of social movements that dominated the mid to latter half of the
century. During the course of both terms students will be asked to complete individual work, group work, projects, presentations, and tests,
