 A very good morning to the President of the Toastmaster club. I am very happy to see so
many of you present here today. I am so glad that i had this wonderful opportunity to talk about
the topic on Should parenting classes be compulsory to all ages of parents. Become parents is
one of the important thing in human race. It is the most beautiful gift that we get in life for being
a parent to our children. We want to have children to continue our family descent. Other than
that, children become the family most precious things in husband and wife life to strengthen their
relationship. Being parents especially for the first time is not an easy job to be done. There are
many things that need to be look after to become good parents. We parents should not be shy to
attend this classes, even if we had married for years this classes still relevant. This will bring
more benefits and courage especially to those who just establish household in facing the real
challenges to take care of their children.

First and foremost, the parenting classes should be taken by parents before they want to
have baby or children. It is because, this will help them to understand better about parenting life
after they get babies. It would be the first step to be done completely in order to prepare the
parents to handle their children. By attending this classes, parents become more aware about
their family member especially their children in the way they react towards their children attitude
and manner in the future. Parenting classes, also responsible to teach parents independently in
controlling their emotions and learn how to control their stress in managing their children. This
will prevent parents from doing violence and child abuse. Many cases nowadays related to child
abuse cause by irresponsible parents increases each year is because they did not know their real
responsibility and lack of discipline in managing their children. Those who are had problems in
managing their family should take action in attending this parenting classes to improvise
themselves and prevent them from doing child abuse the can cause someone into jail.

Secondly, by looking at the development of our children, they will be reaching some
stage where they will get into teenage life. This will get even harder for the parents to control
their child from doing bad things and keeping good manner. Therefore, parents should take
action in managing their childs life starting from young until they had their own family. So by
attending parenting classes, parents will know the best way to promote their good attitude for
their teenagers. Parents will know how to discipline their teenagers hence they will be less teen
pregnancy, drug and alcohol use, violence, bullying, and juvenile crime from happening to their

teenagers. Of course, our children need exposure to the environment life so that they will not feel
abandon by their parents, but by doing frequent observation to their children they will become
more discipline and have good attitude. Parenting classes also help parents recognize their
children from bullying or being bully. Many parents allowed their children using the internet in
their bedroom, and not in an open area where everyone can see what they are doing. This will
allow the children from contacting the cyber bullying from posting inappropriate pictures and
videos. The parenting classes will give the advice on the internet safety including parental
controls including blocking, monitoring and time limits installed, parent or adult check regularly.

We know that parenting is not an easy job and parents had to carry huge responsibility to
raise children until they become into something that the family can be proud of. Well, through
some parenting classes parents would be introduce to some basic parenting skill like changing
diaper, bathing and swaddling. Besides, parenting classes will introduce how is the baby during
the first year of development, an infant typically reaches certain milestones like rolling over,
sitting up, crawling and standing. Parenting class will give the time frame to the parents when a
child will reach certain milestone. Parenting classes also mostly discuss issues related on how to
get baby into sleep during night time. Nevertheless, socialization among children also very
importance to a growing children. Through parenting classes, parent will have the opportunity to
set play dates, so the children who have same age will have the time to socialize with one
another besides learning something new together. Parenting classes also a good way to obtain
recommendations for pediatricians, child psychologists and nutritionists. Once the classes are
over, youll find these friends valuable if you want another parents opinion on a problem youre
facing or a choice you need to make. Besides, through parenting classes also, parents can share
their childrens problems, their development sign and much more. This will become more
interesting among parents and children who attend parenting classes to held party for their
children. They might also want to celebrate their childrens birthday with their fellow parents.

Furthermore, parenting classes also improve parent-child relationship. By looking at this

point of view, there are parent who are very busy at work and had to spend less of time with their
kids. Parenting classes made right choices for you because we had to take the children to the
parenting classes and somehow we must spend time with them during the whole class and get to
know more about their developments. Hence, the relationship between parents and children

become more closes each day as you attending the parenting classes where we can spend time
more time with them. Parents should be more aware that creating good relationship and
environment between parents and children may affect their future on how they react towards
their attitude and respect their parents. The children will realize that, parents are the most
precious person they have in their life which they grow in their love and passions. Parenting
classes also give parents the general overview over the children of what you want the children to
become in the future whether they are becoming good person in terms of manner and have a
successful life or they had broken life at the end of the day. Therefore, parenting classes should
not be taken as simple things as it really affect the children life if we know the ways to handle
children properly from their young age till adulthood life.

In addition, parenting classes also can be introduces in school in order to better prepare
students about parenting in their future. Some might think that parenting classes in school is not
that importance at least students can get insight of adult responsibility about being a parents.
Students must take actions in attending parenting classes in school to better know about basic
skills that parents should know and have. In fact, if students get into the momentum of being a
parents through parenting classes in school, they will become more aware that become a parents
is not an easy responsibility to carry on thus, this might help in reducing the rate of teen being
pregnant unexpectedly during their young age result in becoming a young parents. When teenage
become parents during their young age, they will tend to drop out from school because had no
other choices but to take the responsibility to take care of their baby. When schools have
supportive parenting class, this might prevent teenage who had become parents from dropping
out school. In fact, this could become one of the best ways to helps teenage parents to learn about
real situation of being a young parent. Teenage parents would push themselves to learn harder
about parenting life through parenting classes that they attend because they have their
responsibility to take care about their children. Parenting classes can be attend by teenage who

want to prepared themselves about parenting life so that they will become more aware about real
time responsibility in the future.

In the conclusion, parenting classes is one of the best choices you have to really
independently raise your family because it would be able to teach parents so many things like
basic skills of children development, learn how to control emotional, teaches parents how to deal
with teenage life and let parents become discipline in rising up their children. Of course, there
are parents who do not need to go for these classes. These parents had already been exposed by
their parents since young so that they will have enough experience when they had their own
family. Parents also need to train their children about parenting skills starting from their young
age so that they will not have the problems facing their big responsibility of being parents in the
future. Parents should be more aware about their childrens life because it will determine how
you want them to become in the future. Proper management of your children would make them
more discipline towards their life and they will not do inappropriate activities that lead them to
moral breakdown.
