HAMMER TEST PROCEDURE

1. PROPOSE

This procedure cover activities for hammer test procedure at the site for PV Power Plant at
East Kalimantan.

2. DEFINITION

The following words shall have the meaning indicated when used herein:
CLIENT : Millennium Challenge Account Indonesia
CONTRACTOR : Akuo Energy Solutions and Entrepose PT. Istana Karang Laut
SUBCONTRACTORE : Third party of other companies the under obligation by Contractor
and approved by Client to supply the work and / or material for works.

Vendor : The organization (third party) selected by Contractor to supply


services, material, and equipment or structures to Contractor, and will include Vendors legal
personal representatives, successors and permitted assignees.

3. HAMMER TEST

Hammer test is Non-Destruction Test (NDT) instrument in order to determine the


comprehensive strength or hardness of hardened concrete in accordance with ASTM C805.

4. METHODE
a. Test Area
Selection of Test Surface
Concrete thickness to be tested should be suitable for tested and mixed with the
structure. Areas exhibiting honeycombing, scaling, or high porosity should be
avoided.

Preparation of Test Surface


Any heavily textured, soft or surfaces with loose mortar shall be ground smooth with
the abrasive stone that made from suitable material.

b. Procedure
Hammer test unit
Hammer test unit shall be calibrated and present prior conducting the test. The
calibration steel anvil for the test hammer must with hardness of HRC58-62

Hammer test process


Hold hammer test unit firmly and ensure the plunger is perpendicular to the test
surface. Gentle push the hammer unit toward the test surface until the hammer
impact. After impact, maintain pressure on the unit and, if necessary, depress the
button on the side of the hammer test unit to lock the plunger in its retracted
position. In the event the impact crushes or breaks through a near surface air, then
disregard the reading and take another test.
Hammer test should be performing 10 times for each nominated test surface area
with minimum 25 mm distance for each point.
