EXPORT CONTROLLED SERVICE BULLETIN i. Rolls-Royce ENGINE — ACCESSORY GEARBOX STARTER PAD DRAIN — INSTALL. THE STARTER DRAIN ADAPTER 1. PLANNING INFORMATION A e Effectivity (1) Engines ‘AE 3007C and AE 3007C1 engines with serial numbers CAE330001 thru CAE330459. NOTE: The engine serial numbers above are based on current production records and should be used for planning purposes only. (2) Spares —Not affected Reason This service bulletin replaces the drain cap on the AGB starter pad drain fitting with the starter drain adapter (23076015). The starter drain adapter (23076015) provides a visual indication and limits the rate of engine oil leakage which would prevent an in-fight shutdown. ‘The installation of the starter drain adapter (23076015) allows an increase in the inspection interval over the drain cap. Refer to the Cessna Service Bulletin SB 750-71-06 for current inspection schedule and maintenance instructions. Description This service bulletin gives you the procedure to remove the drain cap, do the engine oll leak inspection, and install the starter drain adapter (23076015) on the AGB starter pad drain fitting, After you have complied with this service bulletin, Rolls-Royce recommends that you comply with starter drain adapter inspection schedule (Ref. 05-21-00, MM). Approval Technical aspects are FAA approved. ‘Manpower In Service Approximately 1.0 man-hour is necessary to do this service bulletin, Engine Removed Approximately 1.0 man-hour is necessary to do this service bulletin. Labor required to accomplish this bulletin wll be reimbursed by Rolls-Royce in accordance with your Corporate Care ® contractiwarranty, when accomplished at a Rolls-Royce authorized maintenance facility. Compliance Recommended. After the parts are available, you should do this bulletin the next time you do any maintenance on the engine. This service bulletin can be accomplished with the engine installed on the aircraft. AUTION: — IN ORDER TO REDUCE THE POTENTIAL FOR MULTIPLE-ENGINE IN-FLIGHT SHUTDOWN, POWER LOSS, OR OTHER ANOMALY DUE TO MAINTENANCE, ERROR, ROLLS-ROYCE RECOMMENDS THAT OPERATORS AVOID PERFORMING MAINTENANCE ON MULTIPLE ENGINES INSTALLED ON THE ‘SAME AIRCRAFT AT THE SAME TIME. IF IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO AVOID MAINTENANCE ON MORE THAN ONE ENGINE AT THE SAME TIME, ROLLS-ROYCE RECOMMENDS THAT ADDITIONAL CONTROLS ARE APPLIED IN ORDER TO ENSURE THAT MAINTENANCE TASKS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED AS. DEFINED. MAINTENANCE GUIDELINES SHOULD BE REVISED, WHERE POSSIBLE, TO PROMOTE THIS RECOMMENDATION. ‘A. Loosen the drain cap on the AGB starter pad drain fiting, REF. FIG. 1 WARNING: DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM SYNTHETIC LUBRICATING OIL. IT CAN CONTAIN TRICRESYL PHOSPHATE. USE IN AN AREA WITH CONTINUOUS AIRFLOW. KEEP AWAY FROM HEAT, SPARKS, AND OPEN FLAMES. DO NOT GET IT ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. WEAR GOGGLES, CHEMICAL-RESISTANT GLOVES, AND SAFETY CLOTHING. IF YOU GET IT ON YOUR SKIN, CLEAN WITH SOAP AND WATER. IF YOU GET ITIN YOUR EYES, FLUSH WITH WATER. GET MEDICAL AID. CAUTION: DO NOT EXCEED 150 IN-LB (16.9 NM) WHEN REMOVING THE CAP FROM THE AGB STARTER PAD DRAIN FITTING. DAMAGE TO THE ACCESSORY GEARBOX CAN OCCUR. (1) Use the torque wrench to check the breakaway torque of the drain cap (20, Fig. 1). (2) fa maximum of 150 in4b (16.9 Nm) loosens the drain cap (20), loosen but do not remove it. (b) if a maximum of 150 intb (16.9 Nm) does not loosen the drain cap (20), do not remove it. Contact Rolls-Royce for assistance. B. Do the oil leak inspection. REF FIG. 2 NOTE: Use a graduated beaker to collect engine oil that may drain out of the starter pad drain fitting and/or the starter drain fing. (1) Remove the drain cap (20, Fig. 1) from the AGB starter pad drain fitting (30). (@) For instalied engines, go to step 2.8.2). (b) For removed engines, go to step 2.C. (2) Remove the starter drain cap (Ref. Fig. 2) (Ref. Cessna 750 AMM). (3) Measure the volume of engine cil that drained from the AGB starter pad drain fitting (30, Fig. 1) andior the starter drain fiting (Ref. Fig. 2). (2) Ifyou measure more than 70 cc. of engine oil, do the steps that follow: 1 Do the leak test of the engine at maximum takeoff power (Ref. 72-00-00, MM). 2 Ifyou find a leak, take the correct maintenance action to repair the leak. (©) you measure less than 70 cc. of engine ol, then go to step 2.8.(4), (4) Install the starter drain cap (Ref. Fig. 2) (Ref. Cessna 750 AMM). (1) Install the starter drain adapter (20, Fig. 1) (23076015) on the AGB starter pad drain fitting (30). (2) Use the torque wrench to torque the starter drain adapter (23076015) (20) to 40.0-65.0 in-tb (4.6-7.3 Nm) (Ref. 70-00-00, MM). D.
