Answer these questions in the first person. Treat this as a journal for your character.
Use this to find your characters voice:
1) Who are you in this scene? Get specific: How old are you? Where are you from?
What are major events that have shaped who you are? What is your present
state of being? How do you perceive yourself?
2) In the play, what do other characters say about you (Get specific. Use quotes
from the play.), and what does that say about how you are perceived in the
world?
3) In the play, what do you say about yourself, (Get specific. Use quotes from the
play.) and what does that say about your self-perception?
4) What is your relationship with your scene partner? Give a detailed history.
5) What is your objective? (What do you want from your scene partner?)
6) What is the obstacle? (What stands in your way of getting what you want?)
7) What tactics will you employ? (What will you do to accomplish your goal?)
Include your scene score with your final paper.
8) How will you know when you have accomplished your goal?
9) Where does the scene take place? Do you have history with the place? Are you
comfortable or uncomfortable in this location?
13) What is something about you that no one but you knows? Why is this
significant?
Due with your Final Draft:
Please submit your rehearsal journal. Keep track of ALL dates and times that you
rehearsed. Write about your work, your discoveries, and your progress. Track your
successes and your frustrations. If you implemented a technique from class, write about
it. Use this format:
