27 29 NOVEMBER 2017. NASSIMA ROYAL HOTEL. DUBAI. UAE

Approved by the Knowledge & Human Resource Development Authority (Govt of Dubai)

INTRODUCTION

Inventory management is all about having the right inventory at the right quantity, in the right place, at the right time, and at the right cost. Inventory management is
the practice overseeing and controlling of the ordering, storage and use of components that a company uses in the production of the items it sells. Inventory
management is also the practice of overseeing and controlling of quantities of finished products for sale and end users.

It starts and ends with supply chain management because many of the opportunities to improve efficiencies start with shortening order to receipt time without
incurring additional cost. Such concepts as safety stock, economic ordering quantity, cost of goods, inventory turnover, customer managed inventory and a vendor
managed inventory, whole spectrum of underlying inventory management tools play a critical role in what is inventory management.

BENEFITS OF CERTIFICATION

These certification programs are important to people in supply chain management sector for a number of valid reasons.
Business management recognizes the growing complexity and heavy demands of the supply chain operation. Executives need the assurance that their inventory
and supply chain managers are adequately trained, reliable, and dedicated to their professions.

There is a growing realization in the business world that only professionals can get the job done in a professional manner. The certification provides general
management a high degree of confidence in the ability and integrity of the people who have been or will be selected to do the job.

Other facts supporting the need for certification of purchasing and supply chain people include a marked degree of improvement in personal confidence,
satisfaction, and pride, which results from certification and it is manifested by improved performance on the part of the certified individual. A nationwide survey
conducted indicated that those who earned a approved and valid certification in their chosen field of work earned an average of 23.4% more than other inventory
