Homecoming kicks off the beginning of school as the first dance of the year. It includes the beloved week of
dressing up according to individually themed days. There are creative themes ranging from totally rad 80s to
class color. Many students go all out and have fun by dressing up for homecoming week.

I love being able to dress up, Its a fun and easy way to stand out and show school spirit, James Keller 15
said.
This week pumps up the student body in preparation for Friday nights game and Saturday nights dance with this
years theme, Neon Nights. While everyone is at home preparing their hair and outfits, all of the student council
members are hard at work decorating the cafeteria with fluorescent decorations.
As a member of student council Im really excited for all our hard work to pay off when the final product is
complete, Adlena McClain 16 said.
Come Saturday night, the cafeteria is completely decked out in neon and black light decorations. The clock finally
strikes eight and students are flooding in through the double doors in their best attire. The first thing students see in
the ultraviolet room is a giant lime green archway decorated in sparkling white lights that electrify the dim room.
Going into the cafeteria, there are neon lights bouncing off of the walls as everyone is dancing and fist pumping to
Usher's Yeah. As the night ended, students left the dance with memories that would last them a lifetime.
