either have lessons that are too short or too long and lose track of time.

2. Describe what you will do to help achieve your goal (Strategies Used)
- I will achieve my goal by making sure students conversations dont steer far away from the lesson,
and are all lesson related.

The teacher shows the letter i and asks if anyone recognizes this letter then explains to the students
that this is the letter Ai and asks Can everyone say Ai? then continues; But what do you think
the sounds of the letter Ai is? The teacher asks the students to repeat the sound of the letter Ai
by saying The sound while motioning to the ears what sound means for students to understand.
The sound of the letter is /i/ can you all say /i/?
The teacher asks the students what may start with the sound /i/ after the students take a few guessed

song whilst singing along whilst doing with movements. The teacher repeats the sound of the letter
Ai, i i i, and hears the students repeat it multiple times to ensure they have it right. Followed by
the part of the letter in the song of sounds insects are interesting i i i. The teacher tells the students

The teacher explains to students how to write the letter i, first on the board by saying we will start by
drawing a line going dooooown and add a dot on top! Easy right?
Then the teacher will have all the students to raise one finger up as their magic pen and says, Okay
students lets try using our magic pen to draw the sound /i/! Can you do that? Are you ready? Okay
first we go dooooown and add a dot on top like a small head!!
WOW WELL DONE STUDENTS!! Should we try again?
The teacher tries drawing the letter a few times then says Okay now students I think you are all
ready, can we try again without me doing it?? and allows the students to practice without her
guidance. The teacher will then model the activities for the students

Independent Experience (small group activity 1)

Low: The students use dotted stickers to fill the circles into making an igloo. The teacher also asks
the students questions to keep them engaged and has them sound out the /i/ in igloo.

Independent Experience (small group activity 2)

Medium: The students will be colouring the sound /i/ and colouring an ice cream, the teacher will
also ask them what flavour their ice cream is and what sound of ice cream is /i/. The students colour
the /i/ and their own unique ice creams, they also answer their teacher and engage in a discussion
with peers.

Independent Experience (small group activity 3)

High: the students practice writing the sound /i/ in simple words such as insect, inside, igloo, and
iguana. The students trace the letters and practice the sounds and colour the igloo.
The teacher will ask the students if they enjoyed the activities, and what they liked. The teacher
will then draw the letter /i/ and ask the students what letter this is, and what sound does the letter i

make. The students will answer and the teacher will ask them to give a few words with the sound
/i/, then ask them to draw the letter /i/ in the air. The teacher will briefly go over the lesson and ask
