Hello and welcome to the new school year! I am thrilled to have the opportunity to teach your child this
year. To let you know a little about myself, I graduated from Nicholls State University in Business
Education in May 2008. I completed my student teaching at Thibodaux High School where I taught a
semester of keyboarding. This will be my first year teaching Keyboarding at Lutcher High School, but my
seventh year at LHS. I also teach Journey to Careers, and Im very excited to continue being a bulldog.
Before coming to Lutcher, I taught 7th grade keyboarding at the Science and Math Academy. It is very
exciting to continue my career, and I am honored to have your child in my class.
Attached is a class syllabus that includes all policies and procedures. This Keyboarding class that your
child is taking in seventh grade is for high school credit. The grade they make in my class will be on
their high school transcript, and they will not have to take this class once they are in high school unless
they do not pass. Keyboarding is a graduation requirement for all pathways under the the career
diploma track. The syllabus outlines what is expected in my classroom. It is important to make a mental
note of the grading scale for quizzes, tests, homework, and nine-week exams. All assignments, grades,
class announcements, class handouts, etc. will be available at all times online through Moodle. Your son or
daughter will know how to log in to Moodle and access all of the class content.
Please feel free to call anytime to set up an appointment to meet with me. My planning periods are 1st
and 2nd (7:25-8:55). My phone number at school is (225) 258-5364. It should go straight to voice mail
where you can leave a message, and I will call you back at my earliest convenience. My email address is
mlejeune@stjames.k12.la.us so feel free to email me at any time. Email works best. I am looking forward
to having contact with you soon.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Meagan LeJeune
