I will greet the students with the hello how are you song and tell them that we will be talking about
a letter we learned before. I will draw /a/ and ask them if they remember what the sound of the /a/
is? I will go over the words we learned in the previous lesson, which was a day ago, and see who
remembers what the name of each picture. I will praise the students for remembering and being so
smart and sing and dance to the song of sounds (Skip to my lou my darling) with the students. I

will ask them if they can remember how we write the letter and practice with them a few times then
have them do it without my guidance when theyre ready. I will then model the activities we did
before and explain to them that they will be finishing for those who didnt, and for those who want

Low: Students will colour worksheets that contain the letter A and an apple or an ant.
Medium: Students will trace the letter A in upper and lowercase and colour the ant on the
worksheet.
High: Students will get worksheets with words that have the letter A with their pictures next to
them, the students will circle the letter a in each word and colour the pictures.
For the closing I will first have all the students clean up and sit down, some would have played and
some would have done worksheets. I will have them sit by the circle centre and ask them, Class

Assessment
I will assess the students by seeing if they remember the /a/ they took before, and use my MSTs checklist to
tick those who do, and use 1-on-1 learning for those wh0 dont to ensure they remember it before we move to
a new letter next week.
