My contribution to the organisations I worked with in order to solve problem.

It gets more and more improvement on the way teachers approaching students. Related to my
course work project on student-teacher relationship contributes to student achievement
implementing in my work place (a school). It is evaluated (by myself) that teachers are becoming
more opened to student voices when practicing positive communication comparing to previous
approach where student should listen and do teachers instruction only. Many students show an
successful improvement on their grades.
I was teaching at remote junior high school in Jayapura regency after finishing master degree
from Australia in 2013. There are nine teachers and around 90 students for two years. It is small
school so for me it is easy to overcome the problem (negative communication and labelling).
From 2016 until now, after being sent to other school (located in transmigration community
and local Papuan) in rural area, I have worked with 15 teachers and around 200 students. The
problems have been becoming more and more complex and I cannot rely on positive student-
teacher relationship only. I have spent hours to have quality communication with students and it
has just been small percentage showing improvement.
Thus, I have many questions to answer. What is wrong with the approach? What kind of
approach is needed to implement? Which variable is contributed the most to circumstances? How
are internal and external factors influencing the environment? I am thinking of doing research by
coursework and so I am applying for doctoral degree to be more professional on this area.

Practical examples of how to use the knowledge, skills and connections gaining my study.

There are three advantages received from studying. Academically, I will build solid concept
of student-teacher relationship deeply on theoretical notion when attending doctor of education
classes. This is including relationship maintained with professor from university. Practically, I
need to work at research basis to gain essential data of predicting students future achievement by
conducting qualitative correlational method research. This is referring to working with colleges at
schools. Constructively, I will use the research explanation as an argumentation regarding to work
with local government of Jayapura where I am employed. This is also part of maintaining proposed
programs for school stakeholders, teachers, and students.

There are several constrain to implement what I am saying. The first one is coming from lack
of resources related to conducted research. An idea to solve is working with university staff. Next
obstacle is blocking from local government workers. They may ignore me because of overtake
their access of doing project (this case is remarkably in Indonesia-Subordinate out of government
board). Another obstructed issue is that there will be feeling of opening school disgrace when
conducting the research so some teachers and government workers will not cooperate.
