In the last Torah portion we saw how the

lives of Sarah and Rebekah prophetically
pointed to the Bride of Messiah. This week
we will look at the generations or taldot of
Isaac, the two nations that were in the womb
of Rebekah, namely Jacob and Esau. This is
different to Isaac and Ishmael because they
had different mothers. Here the seed of one
woman was divided to create two separate
nations, from the original nation that started
with Abraham.

This week we read from the Book of Malachi. The Hebrew word Malachi simply
means My [that is, YHVHs] messenger. Malachi was a prophet of YHVH, sent
to Israel, the sons of Jacob (Mal 3:6), to the tribe of Judah, who had resettled
in Judea,. Toward the close of the book, it becomes clear that YHVH is also
speaking to all of mankind. He will not endure mans sins forever, and the day of
judgment is coming. YHVH also reveals through Malachi that He will hold back
His wrath if people return to Him. When Judah (known as the Jews) began to
return from their 70 years of Babylonian captivity, YHVH directed them to begin
restoring Jerusalem and building the Second Temple. The completion of the
new Temple by 516 B.C. allowed them to carry out the Temple services again.
(Malachi 1:10; 3:10). The walls of Jerusalem were also rebuilt later, under the
leadership of Nehemiah.

1
Creation of the Image of YHVH
When YHVH created, He created through separation;
separating the waters from the waters, the land from the
water, and lastly, Chavah (Eve) from Adam. In this Torah
Portion, we see the separation of Isaac into Jacob and
Esau. This gives us the idea that the creation process is
running its course, and this was the first step in creating
the Nation of Israel. This creation process of separation is
associated with the letter Beit b, which means house as well as the number
two. This is the letter that is associated with the second word in Scripture that is
barah meaning to create, make, choose, cut down, and dispatch. To
take away is part of the creation process, like making a sculpture, the artist has
to remove the parts he does not want, the things which are not part of the image
he has in mind. YHVH created man in His image, which means only the part that
represents Him will remain in each one of us, after His creation process is
complete. This is why YHVH separated the seed in the womb of Rebecca
which led to the birth of Esau and Jacob. The number 2, 20 and 200 has the
same meaning and we are going to look at the gematria of 2, 20 & 200:

ez-ba-ee meaning my humblings being

created into YHVHs image is associated with you being
humbled.
ach-a-vah meaning brotherhood this is
portrayed by the two brothers, Jacob and Esau.
ach- vah meaning declaration to declare
something is normally after a decision is made, YHVH
declared that He chose or loved Jacob and not Esau.
dodo meaning his beloved Yshua is YHVHs beloved or
Chosen One, Who would fulfil a certain task. Jacob was YHVHs
beloved or chosen one to fulfil the task of becoming the Nation of Israel.
chozeh meaning seer, vision, prophecy The chosen one will
be like a prophet who has the vision to see YHVHs plan for their lives
and how YHVH will use them. The separation takes place between those
who see and those who do not see, also referred to as the blind.
People who do not have the insight to see YHVHs Word from the
perspective of prophecy, are blind and will be led by the ones with limited
or no vision (understanding of prophecy).
yaw-tsak meaning to pour, cast, flow (after melting) The
concept of being sculpted where the removal process reveals the true
image of YHVH in you, is also found in a casting process. This is where
a mould is prepared with the image, and the metal is melted to make it
submit to the moulds outlines and cavities. This is another way to
explain how we are formed into YHVHs image and the processes
involved can be very uncomfortable because it is associated with heat
or major trials and tribulations.

2
yaw-qats meaning to awake, awaken, become active One of
the concepts associated with blindness and sight is to sleep and be
awakened. People without vision are alive but in a sleep state which
makes them passive regarding the truth and the plans YHVH has for their
lives. Part of the creation process, where we become moulded or
sculpted into the image of YHVH is akin to an awakening. This concept
also applies to when YHVH created Chavah (Eve life giver) and when
YHVH cut the Covenant with Abraham, he and Adam were placed into a
deep sleep and awakened after the work in them was complete. You
are only created into YHVHs Image if you are part of His people
through the Covenant and then you will have the ability to become
active in producing new life (chavah), offspring who can produce life as
well.
ken-ahnee meaning to be zealous, also the name of a
Canaanite Canaan relates to the Promised Land, and to someone who
is a Canaanite,. It also represents someone who follows the Shepherd,
Yshua the Messiah, and is on their way to the Promised Land. One of
their attributes is to be zealous of the things of YHVH and direct and live
their lives accordingly.
min-yaw-neem meaning from the right hand This is a term
used to describe Yshua, the Son of YHVH Who sits on the right hand of
the Father, or Who came from the right hand of the Father. The first part
of this word is min , which means from as well as manna. The
second part of this word is yamin , meaning right hand. This word
can then be translated as manna from the right hand, where the manna
depicts the Word of YHVH. Manna is the supernatural food you need to
be created into His Image. His Image is revealed to us as Yshua, the
Son from the right Hand of the Father, the Messiah.
an-af meaning branch Branch is another symbol used to refer
to the Messiah, the Branch, but is not the same as this word here. Anaf
is found in Scripture in Dan 4:12 where King Nebuchadnezzar dreamt of
a Tree that was cut off for a time period of seven iddan (Aramaic for
appointed time). This dream was interpreted by Daniel who said that King
Nebuchadnezzar would live as a beast of the field for seven appointed
times until he acknowledged YHVH as the one true God, rejecting the
other gods he served. This dream can also be interpreted prophetically,
relating to the seven Appointed Times that will fall within the seven-year
tribulation. This same concept is found in John 15:5 where Messiah
Yshua is the Vine and His followers are the branches. With this analogy
comes a warning to those who bear no fruit, they will be cut off and cast
into the fire at the end of this seven Appointed time period. Our
creation process, where we are to be created into His Image, is the
same concept as when Esau and Jacob were part of the branches, but
Esau was cut off and seen as an enemy of YHVH due to the lack of fruit
in his life. This forms part of our Haftarah Portion in Mal 1:3, where YHVH
proclaimed: Yet I have loved Jacob, 3 but Esau I have hated, and I
have turned his hill country into a wasteland and left his inheritance to
the desert jackals.

3
The word for hate is san , meaning enemy, be hateful, hated. This
is more an attitude from both Jacob and Esau that was reflected back
onto them than an attitude from YHVH. Jacob loved YHVH and that was
reflected back unto him, Esau hated YHVH, not bearing any fruit, and
that was reflected back unto him. We see the same principle with Able
whose offering was accepted and Cains offering that was rejected. Later
on Cains real fruit was revealed, that caused the rejection / hatred / to
be despised as an enemy, when he killed his brother Abel. The same
fruit was present in Esau when he said he would kill Jacob and was the
reason why he fled.

What is interesting about the word san , is when you shuffle the
letters, it changes to the word nasa , which means to bear, to carry,
to elevate. This shows us that the hatred from YHVH is a reflection of
the fruit of the individual and can change to nasa, when the individual
repents, as found in Gen 4:13. When Cain repented, he was protected
with a mark (Aleph-Vav-Tav , Vav man in Messiah)
This creation process is what happened in the generations of Isaac and is the
same creation process that is happening in the Body of Messiah. People like
Esau, who are not bearing any fruit, will be removed so that only those who
have changed into the Image of Messiah, like Jacob, remain. This is the concept
known as to become set apart, separate and Holy.

Jacob vs. Esau in the Body of Messiah

Jacob and Esau are the best illustration of the concept of
the two parts or souls we all consist of; the nashamah
(spiritual soul) and the nephesh (fleshly soul). There is a
constant conflict and battle between these two parts inside
all of us. Paul uses the phrase lust of the flesh and old
man that causes us to sin and war against our new man
or spiritual soul, warring against one another.
Rom 7:21-25 I find then a law (something I
obey), that, when I would do good (obey
nashamah), evil is present within me (opposing nephesh). 22 For I
delight in the Torah of Elohim according to the inward man
(nashamah). 23 But I see another law (something I obey) in my members
(fleshly desires nephesh), warring against the law of my mind
(spiritual desire - nashamah), and bringing me into captivity to the law
of sin (lust of the flesh - nephesh) which is in my members (body). 24 O
wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of
death? 25 I thank Elohimthrough Yshua Messiah my Master!
Jacob and Esau (Israel vs Edom) also represent the internal conflict within the
Body of Messiah today. Some Believers are more liberal and allow things that
are fleshly within the Congregation, trying to be more seeker sensitive,
reaching out to a larger audience and their preferences. People like Jacob are
more conservative and try to conduct their lives according to the Scripture but
are labelled as being legalistic and not spiritual enough.

4
The Scripture is clear, revealing that Esau was rejected, because he loved the
world more than the things of YHVH, while Jacob was chosen (loved). This does
not mean that Jacob was perfect, no, YHVH had to wrestle with him and
change his character (name) and make him the first one to become part of Israel
(the righteous people of YHVH). Neither Esau nor Jacob were acceptable, but
YHVH could work with people like Jacob, after refining them, to elevate them to
the next level, which is Israel. This is the final goal of the re-creation process;
we all have to go through refinement, so we can change from being an Esau
(sinner in the world), to becoming a Jacob, a born again (converted) follower of
Messiah Yshua. The end goal of this life is ultimately to become part of Israel
(the Body of Messiah) fulfilling a specific purpose within the Kingdom, and
entering into the New Jerusalem through one of the 12 Gates of Israel.

Generation in Bondage
The name of the Parashah is taldot
tvdlvt, meaning generations and descent.
It comes from the word yalad , meaning
to bear, to bring forth, distress from child birth.
It is first used in Scripture in Gen 3:16 when
after the fall of man, YHVH cursed the woman
by saying that she would bring forth children in
sorrow and pain. If we look at this from a prophetic point of view, it correlates
with the Woman, Bride (Body of Messiah), going through trials which add pain to
the process that relates to the birth pains described in Matt 24 prior to the
Coming of Messiah Yshua. Trials, tribulation, persecution and difficulty are part
of the end time pain the Woman will go through, but many will be born again
as a result of her pain and effort. This then, corresponds with the message of
the Book of Malachi, that was one of the last messages to Israel prior to the First
Coming of Messiah Yshua and definitely applies to the people of YHVH, prior to
the Second Coming of Yshua. We have also touched on the 7 Appointed
Times (7 Year Tribulation) revealed by the dream of King Nebuchadnezzar, the
king of Babylon, that were mentioned in Dan 4, associated with the branches
being cut off. Those who are ingrained in the System of Babylon will be cut
off with the system as prophesied in Rev 18:2, that stated Babylon has fallen.
Babylon, the religious system that infiltrated the Body of Messiah, is the
habitation for devils and every foul spirit, hence the great deception and why
YHVH is calling His people out of this system. We as Watchmen must watch
until we see this System collapse and its idols destroyed.
Isa 21:6-9 This is what YHVH says to me: Post a watchman. Have
him report whatever he sees. 7 He will see chariots, pairs of
horsemen, riders on donkeys, and riders on camels. Let him watch
carefully, very carefully. 8 The watchman called, Sir, I stand on the
watchtower every day. Every night, I stand guard at my post. Look!
Here come chariots and horsemen in pairs. Then he said, Babylon
has fallen! It has fallen! All the idols they worship lie shattered on
the ground.
It is our duty as watchmen, appointed to serve the generations of Isaac, the
people of YHVH called Israel, the followers and Body of Messiah Yshua, to free
them from this cancer that infiltrated YHVHs people.

5
Part of the duty as watchmen is to reveal YHVHs Word so that the Body of
Messiah can remove the idols from among them and serve YHVH in Spirit and
Truth.
Nebuchadnezzar consists of the word nebu
, meaning prophet, chad , meaning jar or pitcher.
Chad is first used in Scripture in Gen 24:14 where
Rebekah offered the servant and his camels water from her
pitcher. This reveals the people of YHVH serving and
spreading the Word (water) to others. The last part of this
name is tsore , meaning flint, knife, pebble, foe,
distress, enemy. Adding these three meanings gives us the reason why
Nebuchadnezzars branches were cut off; he represents believers in Messiah
Yshua, specifically prophets, who do the work of the Kingdom, watering the
camels, teaching the Word of YHVH to His people. The issue is found in the
last part of the name, identifying the problem as a knife or pebble, something
that either stabs you or makes your walk uncomfortable (pebble in shoe) to
others. This is the attitude of judging others with a manmade knife (like Ehud),
stabbing the people into submission and the second issue is added manmade
doctrines (pebble in the shoe), that restrict their walk (halechah) and can cause
people to stumble. These are identified in the Berit Chadasha (NT) as false
Prophets because of the deception of the system of Babylon. Peter calls it the
doctrines of devils and relates to what Rev 18:2 reveals.
Mal 1:6-10 This is what YHVH of Armies says: A son honours his
father, and a servant honours his master. So if I am a father, where
is my honour? If I am a Master, where is my respect? You priests
despise my Name. But you ask, How have we despised your
Name? 7 You offer contaminated food on my altar. But you ask,
Then how have we contaminated you? When you say that
YHVHs table may be despised. 8 When you bring a blind animal to
sacrifice, isnt that wrong? When you bring a lame or a sick animal,
isnt that wrong? Try offering it to your governor. Would he accept
it from you? Would he welcome you? asks YHVH of Armies. 9 Now
try asking Elohim to be kind to you. This is what you are doing!
Will he welcome you? asks YHVH of Armies. 10 I wish one of you
would shut the doors to my house so that you could not light fires
on my altar for no reason. Im not pleased with you, says YHVH of
Armies, and I wont accept your offerings.
YHVH refers to Himself as YHVH Tsevaot, YHVH of Armies. That means He is
on the warpath to set things straight in His House and within His people. He is
not happy. YHVH accuses the spiritual leaders (prophets & priests) of giving
Him no respect, and that they had despised His Name. Despise is the word
bazah , meaning to make void, to scorn, worthless and to trample
underfoot. First of all, YHVHs Name represents His Character and how they
treat Him is a reflection of not knowing His Character. The same phrase is used
in Heb 10:28 saying:
Anyone who rejected the Law of Moses died without mercy on
the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29How much more
severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has

6
trampled on the Son of Elohim, profaned the blood of the
Covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
30For we know Him who said, Vengeance is Mine; I will repay,

and again, YHVH will judge His people

Not recognising the Blood of Yshua, the Blood of the Covenant is a major insult
to the Father and those who do that, trample His Name under their feet, as
mentioned in Malachi 1:6. The other place trample underfoot is used is in Matt
5:13:
You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its savor, how
can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything,
except to be thrown out and trampled by men
Those who lose their salt are the followers of Yshua who lost their zeal and
first love, they will be defeated by the enemy and trampled upon by men.

Defilement of the Priesthood

The Book of Malachi is all about returning to Jerusalem, to leave
the system of Babylon and enter through the chet into life. Mal
1:7 says that You offer contaminated food on my altar
Food is the word lechem , which also means bread. Bread
is associated with His Word, which means that the spiritual
leaders are offering contaminated Words within His House, to
His people, defiling His Name in the process. Contaminated is
the word ga-al , meaning to defile, desecrate, to pollute.
Ga-al is found in Scripture in Ezr 2:62 and Neh 7:64, both
places with the exact same verse that describes the rejection of Priests, who
were in the records of their genealogy, but were rejected as Priests because of
their contamination or defilement (ga-al). Ezra 2:62 describes the 1st day of the
Seventh Month (Feast of Trumpets), when Ezra read from the Book of the
Torah. Neh 7:64 describes the Feast of Trumpets and Sukkot, when the people
built sukkahs for the first time in years, as they began to celebrate the Feast
Cycle again. Genealogy is the word yachas , which has a similar
meaning to taldot (name of this Parashah), but has a negative connotation
when used in Scripture, revealing their contamination. Yachas is first found in
Scripture in 1 Chr 4:33 where the descendants of Judah, Levi and Benyamin
settled in villages and cities that were associated with Baal. The Books of 1 & 2
Chronicals were written between 450 and 425 BC, after the return of the
Southern Tribes from captivity, back to Jerusalem. This is exactly the same
theme as in the Books of Malechai, Ezra, and Nehemiah, as they all describe
the returning of YHVHs people back to the Torah, to keeping the Festivals and
entering Jerusalem, the Promised Land after the Babylonian exile.
Conclusion: All these Books are in the context of returning to the Promised
Land after leaving Babylon. This is the same theme of Matt 24 and Revelation
where the system is judged and destroyed, and His people return (teshuvah) to
the Promised Land. What this Torah Portion reveals is the principle of returning,
which is related to repentance (to turn around), what to leave and where to
return.

7
The System of Babylon is a religious system that is alive and well within the
Body of Messiah today. This system is full of Baal worship (1 Chr 4:33) and this
problem exists within the leadership (priests - Nebuchadnezzar).
They have contaminated themselves with the worldly things of the flesh and
foreign worship and defiled YHVHs Name in the process (Mal 1:6-10).
What YHVHs people need to return to is clear; they need to go back to the
Torah, hear the reading of the Book in their presence (Ezra 2) and start to
celebrate the Festivals again (Neh 7 & 8). This timeframe of the 7 Appointed
Times (Dan 4:12), is the time YHVHs people will leave Babylon and enter
Jerusalem. This is also the time when the branches will be cut off, those who
bear no fruit (John 15:5). This period of 7 Appointed Times is none other than
the 7 year Tribulation Period, which starts with a 3 year period of birth pains,
followed by the 3 year period where the System of Babylon would be
destroyed, as well as those who are still in it. The Birth pain period is a time of
grace where YHVH will warn His people through His Watchman. YHVHs aim is
to call them out of Babylon (Rev 18:5), so that they can repent and return to the
Torah, keep His Festivals (not Christmas and Easter), and enter the New
Jerusalem. This will happen after His people have been decontaminated and
released from Babylon, that will be destroyed at the end.

The Work of Malachi and the Work of Messiah

Q - I have always asked myself the question, why is it important to believe in the
Messiah, if you have the Torah (His Word)?
The main thing you must understand is why the concept of a Messiah is
necessary; surely faith can be without Him. The main function of Messiah is to
restore His Creation. Messiah or Masiach xysm means anointed and is first
found in Scripture in Lev 4:3 where it refers to an anointed priest, if he sinned
according to, ashamah (unintentional sin guilt offering), the sin of the people,
he must bring a sin-offering. This means that he is made guilty because of the
sin of the people, and then he must stand in for them, making a sin sacrifice on
their behalf. We saw this principle earlier when we looked at the two kings who
unintentionally sinned because they took a bride unto themselves, thus they
were guilty and needed an asham or guilt offering because of the sin of
Abraham. If we see the Kings as the Anointed (masiach) Priest, who is guilty
because of the sin of the people, He must then bring an offering on their behalf.
This confirms the covenant YHVH made with Abraham that He also made with
Himself on behalf of man. The picture here is that the King (Messiah) took a
Bride, and this made Him guilty of an ashamah (unintentional sin), and he
needed to pay by means of a sin offering. This is the main reason why
Messiah exists to fulfil this main purpose. This is the first part of the work He
(anointed Priest) must fulfil to take a Bride unto Himself.
The second part of His work is found where the word masiach is first translated
in the context of the office of Messiah, Who is a Prince or King. This term is
first found in Scripture in Dan 9:25, which is a verse that forms part of the
seventy-week prophecy that was given to Daniel. The function or task Messiah
has to fulfil, is to rebuild the city of Jerusalem. This is related to the work done in
the time of the Prophet Malachi, starting to restore the City of Jerusalem and the
Temple (Malachi 1:10; 3:10), after the return from Babylonian captivity.

8
The Work of the Messiah is paramount in this process. The result will be the
New Jerusalem and the Temple of YHVH restored in the midst of His people.
Massiach has the gematria of 358 supported by the following meanings:
choshen meaning breastplate, pocket holding the Urium &
Thummium This relates to the fact that the Messiah operates in the role
of the High Priest as well, the one carrying the breastplate.
nachash meaning serpent, enchantment, divination,
fortune telling This reveals the enemy, the imposer, fooling
many believers by impersonation of the real Messiah. His
anointing of them allows his prophets to foretell the future
accurately misleading many.
Q How can Messiah and the Serpent be related?
In Numbers 21:8 YHVH instructed Moses to make a bronze
(nechoseth) serpent (nachash) , and place it on a pole
(tav--stake) and everyone who looked (re-eh) upon the nachash would
receive life (chai). As you can see, the problem (serpent) already had the
solution. All of this happened because of sin (chatath - ) that entered the
world. This is the word for sin as well as sin offering, again finding the solution in
the problem. The same symbolism of the serpent is found in the word chattath
within the meaning of the letter tet . We find the Messiah and His Work on
either side of the tet or Serpent, containing the enemy and holding it captive,
so to speak. To its left is the Aleph-Tav , which symbolises Messiah, and to
its right is the letter chet , which means life, and is the symbol for the blood
on the doorpost. This symbol was applied to the doors of the Israelites when
they left Egypt (sin and bondage) and is a prophetic picture of the sin offering
that will be fulfilled with the Blood of Messiah. Chattath is first used in
Scripture in Gen 4:7 where Cains offering was rejected, and Abels accepted.
YHVH spoke to Cain saying; If you do well, will you not be accepted? If you
do not do well, sin lies at the door. And unto you shall be his desire, and you
will rule over him The sin at the door is the tet or serpent at the chet
that tries to keep you from entering life. If you do well (know what is right and
do it righteous acts), you will be accepted and enter through the door that
leads to life chet . If you do things that are not right, as revealed by YHVHs
Word, you allow the serpent (tet) to bite you because you did not walk
according to the Aleph-Tav ( the Words of YHVH walk after the
halechah of Messiah). The Word of YHVH protects us on the left (physical)
and keeps the serpent captive. When you relax the standard of YHVHs Word in
your life (Aleph-Tav), you will open a doorway to the serpent and will be bitten.
Repentance is to turn back to the chet and choose life through actions that are
righteous. That will protect you from the serpents power in your life.
